Saban also mentioned using Anderson and Allen on the dline to use our depth at olb and get more versatility on the field

Watch Coach Saban's Saturday Press Conference from Fall Camp

Some of Saban's remarks:

• "For a first scrimmage, there was a lot of good hitting out there."

• "I think Bryce (Young) did a good job today. I think we have to play well around Bryce. At times today, I don't think we did as good a job as we need to."

• On Aussie punter James Burnip: "He did a good job today. We have competition at the position. Both guys have done a good job."

• On the D-line: "We've got 7-8 guys that have all sort of rotated in there with the ones and twos, and they seem to be making good progress."

• Saban said OL Kendall Randolph sprained his ankle today and was unable to finish the scrimmage.

If true, that's music to my ears. We need more speed, disruption and versatility up front on defense. Really want to see Chris Braswell and Drew Sanders play at OLB.

Bryce threw a TD pass to Trey in the 2-minute offense.

Bryce had 3 tds, and 1 int. 8yd td to Jojo, 13yd td to Latu, 20yd td to sanders in a 2 min situation. T Arnold had the int on Bryce. Jahquez Robinson picked off milroe. Tyson had a 60 yd td to Jones-bell. Tyson Almost led the second team offense to score in a 2 min situation but Story forced a fumble at the 2 yd line.

Offensive line struggled today with Neal and Owen's not participating(don't think its anything serious)each qb was sacked at least 5 times. To'oto'o and Harris was first team ilb and had a really strong day

Y'all think there's any chance we sign Gilbert after his year in Scooba?

Sounds like our offense struggled some but if half the starting OL didn’t scrimmage, that makes sense.

Also, really excited about Jojo. Think he could be our next Waddle type player.

It's just such a high expectation man. I've never seen coach Saban before or since gush about a high school kid like he did about Waddle on the signing day press conference. And just listen this past year about guys like Jimbo and Kirby talk about him. He's a stud and hope he can get 100%

Trey has had a redshirt or medical redshirt, and a covid shirt so... anyone know how many more years he has of eligibility?

Same. I hope he can finally be the player he wanted to be when he signed

I’m excited to see when Payne will begin to contribute. I learned that his father was on officer in the Marines and worked with children after retiring from the Corps.

Was his dad's Marine rank Major, by chance?
