I think it was out of utter anxiety. If there was one on the place kickers, I would so click on that.

I go to church with a guy whose son is a TE on the team. They were eating dinner with Miller Forristall after the 2nd scrimmage and both of the players said the one player they hated trying to block more than anyone else was Will Anderson. They said he's un-blockable. My friend went to both of the scrimmages and said Anderson had 5 sacks in the first one and 6 in the second one. Let's hope the havoc he's wrecked in practice translates on Saturday night
I wish we could get some secondary confirmation. Looking good is one thing, and obviously he has earned the starting job.
But 11 sacks in 2 scrimmages is Alphonse Prevail levels of hype! Especially against our OL.

I agree but you also have to take into account the fact that it's no contact on the QB during scrimmages. So that 11 sacks may have been less if the QB could throw the ball away

Was there a scrimmage rule against the QB throwing it away?

I’ve heard good things.
Basic takeaways is his burst of speed and ability to Sonic the hedgehog the ground as he moves past the tackle. That’s just pure talent really.
Apparently at the last scrimmage they tried to get him out of position with all kinds of motion, throwbacks, reverse etc. not a single time did he bite.
It’s likely he is just a straight man child with a football smart brain. It happens every 25-30 years or so.

No lol what I mean though is if it was full contact that gives the QB a little extra time to throw it away as hes going to the ground
Posted on 9/24/20 at 2:12 pm to Brostache48
Oh, gotcha. But, it might not really give the QB extra time if Anderson doesn't have to hold back to avoid any forceful contact with the QB. Also, a QB trying to pass while being tackled to the ground just might result in a fumble or very inaccurate, tipped and/or intercepted pass. It's pretty risky and it makes coaches cringe.

Yeah, from the video of him his burst is unreal. This kid might have Khalil Mack, LT, Derrick Thomas type of talent.

Dylan Moses looking forward to his return to game action (BOL)
LFG!!!
quote:
Dylan Moses has not played in a football game in 626 days, dating back to Alabama’s loss to Clemson in the 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship Game. But that streak will come to an end this Saturday as the Crimson Tide opens its 2020 season at Missouri.
And a now-healthy Moses is looking forward to it. “It means a lot to me,” the Alabama linebacker said earlier this week. “I waited for this moment for a very long time, but at the same time, I’m just trying to take it one day at a time and enjoy it. Enjoy it every day and get better with my teammates every day.”
Moses is listed as the Crimson Tide’s starting Mike linebacker ahead of its upcoming season, which is a role the senior was set to take over a year ago. However, he suffered a knee injury the week of the season opener against Duke and missed his entire junior campaign.
With that in mind, how is Moses feeling emotionally before his return to game action? "I’m really calm,” he said. “You would think that I’d be very antsy, but I’m not. I’m just taking it one day at a time. I’m very happy, and I’m just appreciating every moment that I have with my teammates and my coaches. As far as being able to play again and all that, I’m excited and I appreciate being able to play the game of football again. Not being able to play has really brought back my love for the game, and every time I go out on that field, it’s gratitude. I’m happy. You gotta appreciate the little things in life.”
Earlier this preseason, Moses admitted he tried to rush his rehab process. He eventually was able to workout and practice without wearing a brace, and now he is 100-percent healthy and is no longer second-guessing his knee. Head coach Nick Saban can attest to that process.
“I think any time anybody comes back from an injury -- I never understood this before until I had my hip replaced,” Saban said Saturday. “If something hurts you for a long time and then all of a sudden it’s fixed and you’re still waiting around for it to hurt, so you’re afraid to do certain things because that’s what hurt before. And I think this is one of the biggest psychological things that players coming back from injuries have to overcome, and I’ve seen Dylan do that in this fall camp very well and he’s getting back into things and doing extremely well. And his leadership and his experience is certainly very helpful to the entire group.”
Moses and Saban have discussed those mental hurdles he has had to clear. “We talk a lot, but at this given moment, I feel like Coach Saban is really comfortable with me,” Moses said. “Ever since I’ve been back, he noticed that everything’s been going smoothly as far as me running the defense, and I feel like he’s comfortable with that. As far as me talking about my injury and all that, the mental block, that was one thing I did have to overcome.
“One day, he met with me about it because he noticed my play wasn’t the same. I spoke with some people and told them I just didn’t feel the same as far as the mental aspect, I felt like I was holding myself back. When I spoke with Coach Saban one day, he brought it to my attention and from that day forward I’ve challenged myself to not think about it. Once I started doing that, I started playing 100 percent again.”
Moses would have likely been a first-round NFL draft pick in April, but he chose to return to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for one more season. His decision was huge news for Alabama, which has to replace three starters along its defensive front seven and another four in the secondary.
After more than 600 days since his last game appearance, Moses is ready to lead a defense that will look to return to the standard of past Alabama teams from Saban’s tenure. “I want to see toughness, grit. I want to strike fear in my opponents,” Moses said. “I want it to be how it used to be. That’s what Alabama’s identity is. I want to bring that back.”
LFG!!!

High powered offense is what’s popular now, but it’s a mean arse nasty defense is what I enjoy the most.

I agree, was just saying if it was live there might have been a few that actually got thrown away instead of being sacks. Which is almost as good as a sack because it still affects the quarterback. But they could've also forced a turnover.
