does that mean seniors can play next year,
Yes, I imagine they will have to also work out exceptions to scholarship #s and home and away roster sizes.
Seniors who get another year of eligibility if the 2020 season is not completed due to the pandemic won't count against roster limits if they return for the 2021 season.

typically the 1st scrimmage is +/_ 12 days into camp. The 2nd is about 7 days later. After the 2nd scrimmage they break fall camp and start working heavily with the ~60 guys that will be in the battle as the season moves forward

Thank you as well! So first scrimmage should be a week from Saturday-ish?

Yeah, that triggered a lot of chatter on BOL that KRob has opted out and returned to Maryland.

Have they made exceptions to gameday #s on who can travel and dress?
I think it is currently 70 for an SEC road game. With 100+ scholarship kids, that could be a lot of butt hurt younger guys not even getting to travel with the team.

I'm not sure, but I suppose the seniors who get an extra year of eligibility (if their 2020 season isn't completed due to the pandemic) and thereby won't count toward roster limits probably won't count toward player travel limits either. If/when it's voted in, we'll probably get the details about stuff like that.

It was nice to hear Golding say all the right things after last season. Mostly, "simplifying things so these kids can play fast."
To be fair, it feels like this has been the biggest problem for a while now. All these studs, all this speed, and talent on the edges and it still feels like we are asking our guys to master quantum physics before the ball gets snapped.
Are we going to attack spread offenses? It's just that "simple."

bamameister, you and I argued a bit last season over Golding's performance. My contention was he had one hand (and three fingers of the other) tied behind his back due to injuries and youth.
Having said that, he (and the defense) need to show marked improvement this year. Barring yet another rash of injuries at key positions, this defense ought to be as stocked as is reasonably possible with experienced talent. If we continue to look lost or out of position this year, it will be clear to me he's not the man for the job.

Lot of frustration last season. It was disappointing to see breakdowns that you couldn't justify because of youth and injury. But Golding did spend a lot of time specifically talking about some of that as well. That takes a lot of humility to say all of that.
But I think you are on it, this is it, he has to get this much talent on the right track. I think he desperately needs a defensive identity that reflects his personal style of dialing up pressure and scheme. I truly hope we see his convictions and defensive beliefs. If this is it, fine. But I hope he's coaching his personal beliefs about stopping spread offenses. That would be my biggest regret.

Never mind conviction and belief. I truly hope we see results on the field
