Would much prefer football pushed back. Football was not meant to be played in August and early September heat in the Deep South. First game should be October at the earliest. A little cold weather on the back end of the season is preferable to the broiling heat early on. Have championship games on NYD, natty a week before the SuperBowl.

I could actually support this

That would be a month or more between the semifinals and the NCG, way too long.

Plus that would handicap recruiting a bit for the schools in the NCG, with signing being the 1st Wednesday of February.

JT Daniels granted immediate eligibility at Georgia.

I wasn't worried about Newman at all at Georgia, Daniels will be a nightmare.

Bama Basketball versus UGA football

Same reason why Shea Patterson and Justin Fields got to play immediately. Someone with power pulled some strings

It's a fair question, but in retrospect I'm actually glad he didn't. Bama would have won more games, but the dance would still have been canceled and if he's as good as we hope he might also be testing the NBA draft waters.

Now he's going to be on the floor for Bama with a much better group of players around him.

Very serious.

Newman is like Kellen Mond. Good runner, but he won't beat you passing the ball.

Daniels is a deadly passer that could cut up the Bama secondary.

I seriously doubt Newman will start a game at Georgia as long as Daniels is healthy.

Our QB has a much higher qb rating than JT Daniels.

If he was so deadly then why would he transferred.

Seriously?

The top 3 vote getters in the 2019 Heisman race were transfer quarterbacks.

I dunno about that - he clearly has raw tools, but he had 2 game his entire career in which he completed > 67% of his passes (Notre Dame and Fresno St). He had an under 60% completion percentage in 5 of his 13 games.

He was a great add for Georgia long term, but coming off an injury and with basically zero practice or game experience in a new system I don't think there should be any worry that he is going to show up and be Joe Burrow in Tuscaloosa (maybe 2018 Joe Burrow).

I have a bad feeling you just jinxed us George. Now I fully expect him to come out looking like 2010 Stephen Garcia.
