Buchner also shows a presence in the pocket. He doesn’t panic, rather he stands tall and looks for something. He has the ability to take off and run when he needs to and probably will be smarter about doing it.
I think it was your pops who mentioned that Buchner ain’t afraid to take a shot in the jaw. He’s exactly right. That dude will get drilled in the mustache to complete a pass. Tough and cool sucker.

I'll probably analyze Buchner's play from ND soon but for right now - Buchner is probably that guy.
Play well against USF (not that hard to do) and then let's see how well we do against Ole Miss.

Jake Coker had 1 TD/1 INT in his career before transferring to Bama. Guess you were depressed then too.

Jake Coker had competent coaches and a lot of talent around him. Buchner does not.
Plus his sample size at FSU smaller and he left because he was stuck behind a Heisman winner.
Plus he had 4 TDs and 0 INTs the year before he started at Alabama.
So they're not the same. Buchner, like Milroe, will be the worst QB to start under Saban since 2016, and that didn't even last half a game. The worst QB to start multiple games before Milroe (and maybe Buchner if he does so) will be Spencer Pennington.

Sounds like the only way you'd have peace of mind is if the transfer was already a proven bona fide superstar coming in. If Bama had gotten even average QB play against Texas, it's probably a win. This team doesn't need a Tua to win games imo. All I want to see is a consistent passing game, which means getting the ball to the WRs on time and letting them make plays. Doesn't mean they have to be perfect 50yd dimes every play.
Just assuming Buchner will be terrible after being in a new situation and surrounded by better skill players at every position, all without seeing him actually play first, is odd. Enjoy your gloom and doom though.

Yep, just saw Roll Bama Roll share news of Talty's report. I guess we shall see how it goes.
My expectations for the rest of the season are about as low as they've been since prior to the 2008 season, so anything good we do will be a positive for me.

I think it will be Milroe for now. The further we get into the season, the more I think Lonergan will get the next opportunity should we have to make another change for whatever reason.

I' love to see it Lonegran. That would be hilarious.
Also, I don't know why they don't give Ty a shot in a game. I don't think he can play worse than Milroe honestly.

One positive to take from Buchner getting the nod is Rees knows him better than the other QBs on the roster.
He's called full games with Tyler as the guy across multiple seasons.

It's frickin Buchner and we're going to the ship.
Many times vs Texas Saban thought about putting Buchner out there, but Milroe did just enough to keep us in the game.
