I just hope we don't wait too late. I think this past Saturday has a chance to be our 2015 Ole Miss moment, awful at the time, but turned into the catalyst to help us going forward.

Been saying this

This does mean if you want one of the QBs to take the reins, you have to give them a shot. Not just one guy. I kinda thought it might be Buchner after that 2nd scrimmage, and his main disadvantage was he had spent the least amount of time with the team. I’m not gonna actively root against anyone we play tho

We need better OL play, RB pass blocking, and QB pressure tho or it won’t matter which guy you trot out there

Man I hate to take one comment and make too big a deal out of it, but that statement by Booker is just awful but kind of enlightening about what kind of culture problem we might have. College athletes have it easier than ever before so the “different things they have to deal with” are basically fancy cars and luxury vacations? I guess that CAN be a problem if it makes you soft but boo fricking hoo.

This just sounds like more of the “we were anxoius” bullshite from last year. Jonathan Allen might literally whip all of his teammates asses if he was on these “new” Alabama teams. What we hear from alot of our “leaders” now is like the exact oppposite of his iconic “Alabama does” response to reporters.

I don’t know what’s going on. I guess it’s the tale as old as time. All great empires reach a peak, get fat and happy, and fall. Maybe it’s just invevitable.

Where are the DOGS on this team? Maybe we should tone down the celebrity guest speaker tour and sport’s psychology leassons every fall and tune up whatever used to make the man lined up across from you quit.

Yes, because they won national championships and we'd like for you to as well. Take pride in that.

I really wish we could bring in some Saban-era legends to be on the coaching staff or in some way be involved with the program day-to-day. I’m talking about guys with that mentality that Jon Allen/Rolando/etc. had. I get that in this day and age, Saban might be a little more cautious about stepping on the toes of current players, but I’d have to imagine Jon Allen, or someone like that, would have zero issue with telling these current guys how it needs to be. shite, I saw Allen and Payne throwing hands on the sideline last year because the DL play for Washington wasn’t up to the standard as he sees it. Where did our meanness and grit go?

I saw a clip yesterday of Deontae Lawson getting pancaked by a TX OL after the whistle and Lawson just took it with no retaliation. Reggie Ragland commented on the video “this breaks my heart to see.” I’m not saying he should be throwing punches and get himself ejected, but shite, Ragland/Ro/Foster/Hightower would have thrown that dude in the dirt and let him know what’s what.

This may somehow be worse than the anxiety comments from last year.

There is no one in that locker room like Jonathan Allen, A’shawn Robinson, Reuben Foster, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Marlon Humphrey, Rolando McClain, Dont’a Hightower, etc.

We have no dogs who demand excellence.

Maybe we should have some of those guys come back and speak to the team about the real Bama Standard.

Maybe nothing, but if we’re having motivational type speakers speak to them during camp why not let some guys who have been in their shoes and helped establish the “Bama Standard” speak to them about what the standard is.

But what it's gonna do? Two different generations.

Is there any chance the OL looks better if the QB playing is able to switch plays or change blocking schemes? I didn't see any of either of those type of adjustments on saturday night.

Why the love with Simpson? Lonergan has shown more than him. I think Buchner gets his shot this week, but would love to see Lonergan after him if the staff moves on from Milroe.

Simpson looked sharp in his limited time against MTSU.

But so did Milroe, so who knows what's even real anymore?

Not sure. There has to be more to the Simpson story because it doesnt make sense from the outside looking in. I've been on the opposite sideline from Lonergan and the dude has it. I've watched him take shot after shot and stand in there and spin it all night with less talent.

Why the hate? H from the few times I’ve seen him play, he looks like he has everything you want. He just needs experience. There has to be something with him we’re not getting to see.
