I try to take things lighter on scrimmages. A few things we didn’t do was commit a lot of penalties and turn over the ball. That’s a fix from last week.
Coach seemed pleased maybe because they didn’t really help them. In our private presser he didn’t talk much about the scrimmage itself just some random stuff and how some guys are leaders, stepping on necks, and we have 4 guys who could be QB.

If I've learned anything about CNS over the years is he rides the shite outta his good teams, and uses baby gloves with his not so good teams.
He pushes championship teams and pulls teams that aren’t there (yet).
In a scrimmage where they dropped 6-8 passes, a few for TDs, he praised the WR group for fewer drops. He also mentioned a leadership group that hasn’t backed up their words with actions yet.
Not too hard to decide where this team is in his mind right now.

Coach will make the best decision for the team. Milroe is a freak athlete and threw better than last year. I watched mostly using binoculars and tried to watch all the QBs progressions … I did notice Milroe often locking in on one guy. The others have their pros and cons as well. Will be an interesting year … talent galore, but will it translate into wins? Only time will tell.

At this point I just want the season to start. Going back and reading the play by play from Boz, it didn’t sound like Ty got as many opportunities with the 1s as everyone else. Does anyone think he stayed mostly with the 2s against the number 1 defense to force him to speed up his decision making?

A lack of potential to turn the ball over is going to be a major variable in whoever wins the quarterback derby. Each quarterback seems to have a different skill set. I also read from you guys that are attending scrimmages or are knowledgeable about the scrimmages, that Milroe is showing no improvement in reading defenses. Is that accurate?

I don’t recall one positive thing from the play by play yesterday regarding Ty. Not one.

Are you describing your posts?

most average fans truly don’t know what they’re looking for
It's hard in a scrimmage because it's near impossible to know what the coaches are looking for from each player as they rotate them in and out for different situations and against opposing personnel groupings.
That said, I don't think the average beat writer has any more actual football insight into "what they are looking at" than the average, semi-knowledgable fan. In fact, their takes are often biased or disingenuous to create even more clicks/reads.

Looking forward to this - I’ll post in the Hey Coach/TideTV thread since it’s multi part and so it doesn’t get lost in the discussion. Should be interesting.

Truth is that no one knows what the team is until we suit up against the bad guys.
Let’s see how we look against Mid State until we panic.
We don’t have Bryce, Mac, or Tua, but we have 5 stars everywhere who are ready to bring a Natty back to Tuscaloosa.

Those who went to the scrimmage, what did you like about the defense?

He wasn’t the best and I’m not an expert but everyone with me and around me agreed on that much.

Lots of batted ball, fast to the ball, in good positions. We didn’t have that slow because we are confused look.

Here’s the thing, in years past we have looked way worse than this at scrimmages and I was like yeah we aren’t winning shite. Only to go on and win it all.

Okay. I’m going to back away from the ledge a little. But don’t make any sudden moves.

I honestly believe we can win and win big with Milroe, yes he has his shortcomings but if we can get improvement each week and combine that with how explosive he is, the sky is the limit. I’m not really worried about the receivers, either you’re going to catch the ball or go sit down.
Defensively, I have been sold since the day Golding was hired by Ole Miss.
