Was hoping that would stop after our 3rd base coach no longer was betting on us to lose.
2-1 Bama after catcher hits HR! Let’s finish this!

Davis almost blew the save, but closed it out after loading the bases! Bama takes the series!
We went 2-4 against Vandy/LSU like we needed, now we need to go 4-2 to finish .500.

Bo is out and we take 2 of 3. Overall it was a great pitching performance from all of our starters and BP guys. Roll Dam Tide

Amazing! After Bo, we find ways to win.
Didn't hit the ball a ton, but got good pitching. The total opposite of the way that things had gone, where we would hit like Mike Tyson but pitched worse.

it’s painfully obvious that our pitchers respond to coach jackson and that bohannon misused the staff in lots of games.

I shite posted about Jackson all year.
I reserve the right to take back everything I said because Brad could have been holding him back.

I listened to the end on the way to ATL but from the sound of it, dudes got “Jalen Hurts” ice water in his veins. To get out of it after runners at first and second with no outs against Vandy is so un-freshman-like.

A wonderful day at the Joe - a good size crowd that got a little rowdy at times and good energy from the dugout from the get go. Enough drama with things hanging in the balance until the last pitch to make the W even sweeter. So so happy for the team, the parents and the coaches. Incredible series win against a team we haven’t beaten since… 2015

Guscette’s Game-Winner Propels Alabama to 2-1 Win over Fifth-Ranked Vanderbilt
The Tide catcher hit a solo homer in the bottom of the eighth to help UA clinch the series over the ‘Dores
Mac Guscette's eighth-inning home run proved the difference in Alabama baseball's 2-1 win over fifth ranked Vanderbilt on Saturday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The series-clinching victory moved the Tide to 32-16 overall and 11-13 in Southeastern Conference play.
Hits and runs were hard to come by on Saturday, with each team registering only six hits apiece while the Tide held the advantage in runs. Vanderbilt struck first with a two-out RBI-double in the top of the third, but a Drew Williamson solo shot in the bottom of the fourth tied things up at one apiece. Both teams would go scoreless until the eighth when Guscette's solo homer to left clinched the game and series for UA.
Kade Woods (4-1) earned the win with 2.0 relief frames that included three punchouts. Alton Davis II followed with a scoreless ninth to record his sixth save of the season. The relief duo entered after an impressive start by Jacob McNairy. The graduate allowed just one run on four hits and a walk with a career-high tying seven strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work. Vanderbilt reliever Thomas Schultz (2-2) was tagged with the loss.
From Interim Head Coach Jason Jackson
"I can't say enough about our guys, just the overall effort. I was just so proud of them. We've been in a ton of those really tight games this year. We always say 'good teams win most close games' and we've been in a bunch of those that haven't gone our way, but today we went out and took it and made it happen for us. That's a really good series win, so I was definitely proud of our guys."
