Someone mentioned Mags on BOL yesterday. He's never coached in college for one so recruiting would be completely new for him. Plus he's never been a head coach at any level.
Love the guy, but no thanks.

That’s an exciting list of candidates. But Berry at USM has to be close to 65 by now.
But head coaching experience would be an absolute must this time around.

Yea, hard no on Mags.
Godwin has to be the 1st call and you have to go at him hard, with massive guarantees and a big offer.

Don't think Walter would leave Wake given their current status.
I'd make a run at the 3 I bolded above.

Love that guy, amazing program he's built there but evidently he has already turned down some big time offers for various personal reasons. Solid reputation, would love to have him.

I just don't see it with McConnell, unless he's decided he's reached the pinnacle of what he can do at Louisville and is ready to jump back to the SEC (and doesn't see Ole Miss, LSU, Arkansas, Florida or A&M opening anytime soon - which would be reasonable).
But if somehow that is a realistic option, you make him the highest paid coach in the country if you have to. We can do that.

Wish that Butch Hobson wasn't 74 years old. However, he is still coaching pro ball.

Just feel like this is a young man's game. Anyone older than early 50's probably is a pass.

Now we know why Alabama baseball is so poor. 10 graduates with 6 Masters! Guys spent more time in the classroom than the diamond. Who does that?
Hahaha, JK.
