Let us not forget Antoine Jean was really solid as a freshman and we totally fricked him up. Bless his heart for sticking with us all these years. He’s still on the roster.

Bohannon is a terrible dugout coach.

For the record, he wasn’t there today. He got tossed in the first inning yesterday and was suspended for today (since it was the second time he got tossed this year).

I didn't start watching today. The guy has NO business coaching 3rd base...he has NO clue, PLUS I believe he flips a coin with his pitching decisions.

Rough rough weekend. A complete collapse of the bullpen (save for maybe Riley). 12 free base runners today before I stopped counting. Hopefully they can bounce back with Vandy coming to town on Thursday. Gotta win 6 of the next 9 to get to .500 for the year. So far and yet so near.

Alabama Baseball Swept by LSU After High-Scoring Series Finale (SI)

Both offenses were clicking in the Sunday afternoon matchup, but the Tide leave Baton Rouge without securing a win.

Update on the catcher?

From the TNews
quote:

In the seventh inning of Alabama baseball's game at LSU on Sunday, Crimson Tide catcher Mac Guscette left the game after collapsing on the field.

A wild pitch bounced under Guscette's catcher's mask and into his neck, and the junior collapsed after trying to stand up. After trainers attended to him, Guscette tried to walk off the field, but was ultimately carried off and into the training room behind the Tigers' dugout by the trainers.

According to Tigers coach Jay Johnson, Guscette was conscious as he was carried off the field and was taken to the hospital. Alabama coach Brad Bohannon also gave an update after the game.

"He's alert and doing well," Bohannon said Sunday. "They'll run some tests and make sure he's OK. With the information that I have, we think that Mac is going to be OK."

A transfer from Florida, Guscette started 28 games so far this season for the Crimson Tide, hitting .289 with six home runs in his first season in Tuscaloosa. Freshman Jaxson West replaced Guscette behind the plate.

I think Brad is about as good as we’re going to get right now. We can’t win if we don’t get the players and his recruiting is great given the circumstances.

I think Reida and Morris are good. Reida should probably remain the 3B coach and leave Bo in the dugout.

Jackson can kick rocks. Pitching to Tommy White yesterday with a base open and two outs is a fireable offense itself. Hell it probably cost us the game yesterday.

I’d like to see what a Bohannon team can do with a good pitching coach and a healthy weekend rotation.

Update on Mac Guscette:

Mac is alert and doing well. He is having some tests run to make sure everything is ok before returning from Baton Rouge. We appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers!

Damn we had a real shot to grab 1 this weekend and pissed it away. Such a big difference in 1-2 vs 0-3.

Unfortunately this is where I'm at with this coaching staff as well. Great recruiting, but DAMN we can not get over the hump! I hate that this program is what it is now. I grew up with us going to regionals/super regionals every year with a CWS appearance some of those times.

Has anyone mentioned this yet?

quote:

Ohio gambling regulators on Monday instructed the state's licensed sportsbooks to halt betting on college baseball games involving Alabama after suspicious wagering activity was detected on the Crimson Tide's game against top-ranked LSU on Friday.

The directive, issued by Ohio Casino Control Commission executive director Matthew T. Schuler and obtained by ESPN, prohibits "the acceptance of any wagers on University of Alabama baseball effective immediately."

It doesn't really make any sense in any way. The only "strange" thing that it could have to do with is Hollman getting scratched, but even that doesn't make much sense in terms of a gambler gaining an advantage as Hollman and Banks are not all that different in performance.

Nothing during the game itself would make any sense.

I thought baseball essentially bets on the winner, not any "point" spread.
With that, Alabama lost on the road to a higher ranked team.
What would trigger this ban?

They have point spreads in baseball most of the time it's -1 1/2

This poster does nothing but trash Alabama openly on the rant. Just look at their threads they've started. They are openly an Auburn fan and contribute nothing of value.

Had to be something to do with someone loading up on LSU right before the pitching change was announced. Those two pitchers are basically interchangeable, so maybe just the fact that you had a large bettor or bettors who seemed to have inside info. But how much money is being bet in Ohio on LSU-Bama baseball?
