I haven’t paid a lot of attention to Cape stats in a few years but those probably are decent numbers for that league.

For how he has performed offensively they definitely are.

He had a decent 2nd half this year.

There's a new addition to the Alabama Baseball staff as @HunterMorris15 joins the Tide as Volunteer Assistant Coach. Coach Morris played collegiately at Auburn, where he was an All-American. Big #RollTide Welcome to Tuscaloosa to Coach Morris, his wife Macie, and their children.

Double edged sword getting prospects that highly rated … guess I had rather get them committed than not though

That's a pretty solid BA and OBP if you ask me.

I've probably been most impressed with Hamiter, Diodati, Eblin, Pinckney, and Tommy Seidl, the transfer from Harvard, as far as our hitters go this summer. Probably more K's than you'd like to see from Pinckney, Seidl, and Dio, but both Pinckney and Seidl still have great OBP and Dio brings power so you can overlook those to some extent.

As for pitchers, I've been most impressed with Grayson Hitt foremost (great ERA, OAVG, and Ks, even though the walks are still a bit concerning for a starting pitcher), Brayden Gainey (NO ER, even though it wasn't many innings to go off of for Sav Bananas), and even Hunter/David Furtado, the transfer from Wake Forest (would have an ERA under 4 outside of one terrible inning of baseball where he gave up 8 runs), and Antoine Jean haven't been too shabby in their starts in the Cape.

Eddington looks like he could be a bullpen piece if he can keep his walks in check, but unless he really gets a handle on his control, I don't see him becoming a regular starter anytime soon.

werent walks a problem last year with out BP outside of the Viper and one other. And best I recall we had a lot of K's last year with men in scoring position.

With the Cal Ripken League regular season concluded, @grayson_hitt tied for league lead in wins (4), finished 3rd in strikeouts (39 Ks in 22.0), and would have won the ERA title (1.64), but didn't have enough innings to qualify. League playoffs begin Sunday

I'm not sure what you're referring to by BP, unless you meant CP, meaning Connor Prielipp.

However, yes walks were generally an issue last year with many of the young pitchers, specifically Hitt and Eddington as noted, as well as Antoine Jean and Landon Green. Altough, I'll give Jean somewhat of a pass since he wasn't healthy most of the year even when he did play.

Guffey struggled with them as well, but it doesn't seem like he's taking his super senior year unless there's something we haven't heard yet and you could argue the same thing for him as with Jean. Shamblin also gave up his fair share, but he will definitely not be here next year after transfering.

And as for the SO's with runners on, yes I believe that was a problem as well. Don't have numbers exactly for that, but a few returning guys definitely struggled with SOs last year, mainly Diodati, Rose, and Pinckney, but Williamson and Denton weren't necessarily great either in that regard.

This is actually one area Jarvis truly shines with his choked-up batting appproach with 2 strikes. Only 16 in 173 PAs for a 9% K rate, which is pretty unreal.

Awesome numbers there! I personally have high hopes for Hitt. I think he can be a weekend starter for us this year if he continues to develop as it seems he has already begun to this summer.

Have read on two separate boards where Bama added Ryan Bader from Northwestern (LHP) through the transfer portal. Haven’t found a formal source to confirm. He no longer appears on the Northwestern 2022 roster.
