part of the reasoning is because of your relationship with a QB in Nashville that is from Hawai'i that played college at Oregon. Yep, sounds legit.

I guess the theory would be Mariotta putting in a good word for Chip Kelly?

Not sure why anyone would try to start a rumor and post such bullshite other than them being a rival fan or just a shite stirring troll.

Well anybody can start a rumor, but I've said all year, at least after seeing the kid play, that he'd never sit on the bench for 3 years to play 1. I wouldn't either if I was as talented as he is.

Not necessarily about Tagovailoa, but if a player transferred before spring practice, can he practice with that new team in the spring, and then the next season? I know he can't play, or at least not unless they change the rule and make it immediately effective, and I wouldn't be surprised if that happens at any time. But right now, a player could practice, but not play for a year. Is that correct?

I actually heard this today from someone who would have reason to know about it. Was surprised to see it posted about on here, so it must be getting around. Supposedly, it is already a done deal that he's headed there with Chip Kelly.

ehheh. 3 posts in 4 years. You are a patient fellow. I'll give you that. Most can't do it.

edit: Hell, nearly 5 years. I used to do this, and I would advise you that it works better when you post some innocuous comments once in a while.

But anyway, you have to be kind of thick to assume the kid hasn't considered it. I don't have a single solitary "source" but have said already, quite a number of times, that I figured he'll go through spring practice and have a good sit down with Coach Saban about it. Most of us, if we were that talented, would do the same.

If Jalen does not dramatically improve and Tua demonstrates he can minimize interceptions, I think Tua will win the job for the 2018 season. We'll all just have to wait and see.

I could be wrong but I think Jalen has more to prove to remain as starter than Tua has to prove to win the job.

Richard was one tuff Hombre running the Bone. LSU knocked him out of the game on BR for a couple of series but he returned to lead the Tide to a big win. He is one of my favorite QB's of all time.

Personally, I think Tagovailoa will be the starter next season so it'll all be a moot point, but as you say, we'll just have to see. I think Saban will be honest with him, and if, after spring practice, he thinks Hurts may still be #1 going into fall, I expect Tua will transfer. UCLA, with Kelly, would be a good choice imo. At least that'll get them out of SEC territory. I do not want to face him or his brother in the SEC.

Tua has to prove at practice that he can run the offense better than Jalen. Bottom line. That's the only way he will earn the job.

If Tua transfers, it would be after next season. That's just my opinion anyway. Then, he would have his Junior and Senior year to play at another school.

For sure, Hurts has proven in live games vs good defenses that he can't do it.

Wonder the reaction to a Redshirt So. Season? That would what would happen if he transfers... then he would for sure have 3 to play 3. Let Mac Jones or the new guy (whomever that may turn out to be) be the back up. Unless Jalen gets hurt or really screws the pooch... I still think they should work out about 20 plays a game where Tua is the QB and Jalen is the RB or Slot... add the option for Tua to throw, pick to Jalen and Jalen the option to throw or throw back to Tua for a downfield pass... seems like that would most likely result in 10-15 TD's of those 20 plays... But last I checked my name was not "Run Da Ball"

Can’t remember a time when the back up QB has gotten the snaps Tua has this year. There’s no doubt Saban knows what he has in Tua. Gave Tua a lot of live action for a reason. Jalen will have his first serious QB competition since his been there. He better be ready, this isn’t Barnett.

It's Tua's team now. He ain't going no where.

Hopefully Jalen accepts Saban'z assessment of his NFL prospects and agrees to a position change that might get him to the next level. If Smelly can be an H Back at the next level, Jalen sure can.
