Those tickets are going to drop a good bit. FSU fans are just listing them at that price for the FOMO types who have already booked rooms and such.
2:30 kickoff in August for a projected 7-5 team? They’ll be below $200 is my guess.

But as far as natural beauty/recreation, I think the Tal area is one of the more underrated places in the nation.
I give you that for sure. Great hiking trails, kayaking ect around Tallahassee to Pensacola.

I couldn’t disagree more with those saying the city and/or campus sucks
I’m biased for sure, but when I was there they didn’t have half the stuff they do now, and I had a pretty amazing two years living there. Most gamedays I had to get to the stadium early to help clean the weight room for recruiting and booster walkthroughs as I was a GA. Afterwards I’d usually walk to a tailgate or a bar and hangout before going into the game. I’d typically leave early to catch the Bama game at a bar if they were due to kickoff soon
Used to work at one of the older bars too which is still around, and number of my buddies these days are people I worked with back then. The big college town they built up is cool, but it was just a field that I let my dog run in since I lived right by the stadium.
Haven’t been there much in the last decade since I’m not an actual FSU fan, but have done several tailgates in those IM fields or the lot surrounding the stadium and always had a great time on game days (Miami games are particularly nasty though). This will be my first time being an opposing fan there, but most knew me to be a bama guy even while I was in school
I’ll be the only bama fan I know amongst a bunch of FSU fans, and I’ll be tailgating in the IM fields with a bunch of em, but I’m looking forward to getting to experience the gameday atmosphere once again (aside from it being 100+ degrees)

I remember you saying this in another thread. One of my roommates was a guy cheerleader and we worked together at the bar “Ken’s” from 2010-2012 (he left in 2013 I think). I became friends with most of the cheerleaders during those two years since he was on the team and they’d come to the bar a lot. Still good friends with a couple of em and some even made it to my wedding this past Jan.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we’ve met before. Were you at the LSU/FSU game in Nola a few years back?

The wife (no pics) is an FSU grad, Alabama myself… we’ve done many games at Doak, but you never go to Doak in August or September, it’s brutal… no air… and just awful, we’ll watch from our AC at home… no matter who wins, my house gonna suck for a week or so.

See, that’s why I married a UCF grad. I’m not doing any of that house divided shite. If she’s going to be mad at me it’ll be for the good ole fashioned spending 16 straight weekends watching football instead of apple picking or whatever

My wife went to a small private college so no marital turmoil for me come football season. She has elected not to sweat it out with me at the game though and instead head to her parents’ lake house with our dog lol

FSU Campus is meh. Not a great party scene for a huge school. No music scene. No culture.
No decent looking women either, just goblins that looked like they crawled out of a Chernobyl root cellar.

Tallahassee is freaky, weird and lame.
This pretty much sums up Florida as a whole, minus a few coastal towns. I'll never understand how the deep south states catch endless flack, yet Florida, whixh is basically a mash-up of the worst people imaginable, turned up to eleven, somehow dodges the same level of heat their neighboring states get. I'm from Orlando and centeal Florida as a whole is a breeding ground for the trashiest people in existence. I'm talking so trashy, they make Jimbo from Nowhere, Tennessee look like Brad Pitt.

Did you by chance watch the Bama game at Rusty Nail/Sidecar that weekend?
If so, I do think we’ve met, which would be pretty wild

I'll be at the IM fields- we've usually got two tailgates we bounce between between wife's grad school friends and undergrad friends

I will be there. I dont think ive missed an opener since 1995 or so. Its going to hot but it always is for this first game unless its in a dome

I'll have to try to figure out what time we plan on getting to the IMs and getting set up. Also looks like it might be a rainy day. Not sure how I feel about that in terms of the game, but at least it might keep the temps a bit lower overall

If you’ve ever tried Evan Williams you would know. It is not good.
