The thing that bothers me is that we always lose in the same fashion. No adjustments are ever made during the game.

I think we have the players to be an NCAA tournament team.

Yesterday was a great example even though Florida is a really good team. We were up 10 and they went on an 11-0 run before Grant called a timeout. Yesterday's game wasn't a game where you let your team play through that type of run. You HAVE to call a timeout as soon as you see momentum changing.

Next year we will have a lot of upperclassmen so I fully expect to go to the NCAA tournament and win 1 game

I just hope we aren't having this same conversation a year from now. I've been a big CAG supporter before this season. I'm not so sure anymore. Make me a believer once again, CAG. Please.

You can always count on the the football only fanatics to come out in full force around this time...to criticize the basketball program.

They are suddenly experts in March.

Coach Grant will be our coach next year, and you can bet your @ss that he knows he has got to get it done or the mob will be at his front door! Having said that, with the team that he has coming back, along with the new recruits and a hopefully healthy 7 ft. Swede, there is no legitimate reason for him not to. Next year decides CAG's fate at Alabama for at least the next 5 years.

It is awesome. Just need to find the basketball version of Saban IMO, then profit.

Barring some major injuries, we should have a decent seed in the tournament next year. We would probably be in this year if we didn't lose 2 players during December. Remember, we looked pretty good after the first month, and Engstrom was our best forward at the time. I do think Grant needs to change at least one assistant coach, but I don't know enough about them to say who needs to go. I was pleased with the improvement of some of the guys this year. Retin played great the last month of the season and Pollard slowly improved.

And Levi finally started being aggressive on offense.

I've been far less critical this month than I was in December and January

I think you could say we played our most complete basketball of the season for the first game and a half of the SECt.

He's 4 years into his "system" and Carl Engstrom was the best forward he had this year. He went into this season expecting post production out of Engstrom and Gueye good enough to be a tournament team...

If AG made $1 million a year I'd be content with being an annual bubble team, but you can't pay him elite money and be happy with mediocre results.

This team was no different than any of his other teams, solid defense, horrible offensive gameplan, incapable of protecting a lead. We had 2 5 stars and 3 4 stars out there and you are talking about NEXT year?!

It was obvious we'd need a post presence after JaMichael left, he never filled it. This was an NIT team before the season started and that's where we finished. He's a bad fit at Alabama and I hope we miss the bubble next year so we can move on rather than staying in basketball limbo.

Just look at how they have "developed" Pollard over the course of the year. This staff can't evaluate and develop talent.

Holy shite. How much of an improvement did you expect out of a true freshman from the summer to March?

I'd say just about everyone played much better than they did last year.Lacy was close to the 5 star we thought we had most of the year. Both Releford and Lacy lived up to their ranking. When Cooper's shot was falling, he was living up to his. The only one that didn't live up to expectations was Pollard, and like I said, he was a true freshman.

Did you watch the first month and a half? He was a perfect role player. He was chopping in some points and playing great defense. He wasn't the flashiest player, but he was in the right place 95% of the time.

Around this time? Where have you been? Agree or disagree, the criticism has been consistent since December.

Maybe from actual basketball fans, I've never seen 75% of the posters in this thread, probably because they've been discussing 2015 recruits or something. But just like clockwork, here they come to bitch about another sport

I wouldn't complain if we could actually win a big game.

Kind of a tricky thing, to judge whether or not someone is a fan of a particular sport, no?

Maybe some sort of formula? Like, if you don't post at least 10 basketball related posts per month, then you're not a real basketball fan. I don't know. Seems daunting.

Sorry everyone's E-cred isn't high enough for douche bags like you. You don't have to be a "basketball insider" to see that this team has serious issues on offense, and at some point you have to point at the coaches. Of course everyone sees that recruits are not panning out, so coach Grant is either the most unlucky coach in America, or for some reason cannot develop talent.
