Sources: NFL suspended 5 players, including #Lions WR Jameson Williams, for violations of NFL gambling policy. #Lions’ CJ Moore & Quintez Cephus, plus #Commanders' Shaka Toney, are suspended indefinitely (at least 1 year). Williams & DET’s Stanley Berryhill are suspended 6 games.

This is a really dumb suspension. Jamo bet on a non-NFL game while in an NFL facility, so he's suspended for 6 games. So, guess you can't log in to DraftKings and place bets on non-NFL games while sitting in the training room, player lounge, etc. in your team's facilities.

But how much is the NFL making from their partnerships with Caesars Entertainment, DraftKings, and FanDuel?

DETROIT -- Four Lions players, including former first-round pick Jameson Williams, were among five players leaguewide to be suspended for violating the NFL's gambling policy following an investigation by the league.

Lions wide receiver Quintez Cephus and safety C.J. Moore have been suspended indefinitely for betting on NFL games, as was Washington Commanders defensive end Shaka Toney. They can reapply for reinstatement after one year, though the Lions announced that their two players have been released.

Second-year wide receivers Williams and Stanley Berryhill are being suspended for six games each for mobile betting that occurred at the Lions' Allen Park facility. They did not bet on NFL games, the Lions said.

Unless they were betting on NFL games, it shouldn't even be an issue. 6 game suspension seems a little ridiculous. Maybe a 2 game suspension since it is a rule, but 6 is crazy. Wonder if it's appealable.

I think all suspensions are appealable. I really do not understand why where you place an otherwise perfectly fine bet is an issue though. Like, what is the difference between placing a bet on an NBA game after a workout vs. driving home and doing it? It doesn't change shite. This is just some silly "integrity of the game" bullshite they are going to use to come down hard on a player while the human garbage that own all of these teams rake in the cash from getting in bed with gambling entities.

Surely the NFL teams have a meeting with new recruits and explain the rules to them??

Every NFL team needs to put this rule on the wall in big red letters, so even dummies can understand.

ESPN is starting to talk Bryce at #1 and Will at #2. Saying it’s looking more and more like Houston won’t pick a QB and that Anderson might be their guy.

That would be pretty cool.

Bryce Young on the cover of Sports Illustrated for the NFL Draft Preview.

He makes the 13th Alabama QB to appear on the SI cover (college, pro, or preview)

Still fricking annoyed by how last season went. On paper, it should have been Saban's best team. But the WRs didn't develop, and the defense was hamstrung despite having draftable talent everywhere

Pretty embarrassing if we have the two first picks in the draft and couldn't even make the CFP with them. Last season was a terrible job by the coaching staff... starting with Saban keeping certain individuals on staff that literally everyone knew should have been already shown the door. It cost them a shot at the NC. People rip on BOB, and I wasn't a huge fan, but it was drunk arse Golding that killed Bama last year and Saban let it happen.

That being said...some mocks have Houston taking Wilson at 2 instead of Anderson. Would Demeco really pass on a fellow Bama guy like Anderson? Who knows.

Great news, John Metchie is back on the field for offseason workouts after his battle with cancer. The expectation is he will 100% be ready to roll for week one.

Draft Eve...lots of chatter, as usual.

Will Bryce go #1 and give Bama their first overall #1 in the modern draft era?

Will New England trade Mac Jones? (I wish)

Could Bama go 1-2 in the first round?

How many first rounders for Bama? 2 a lock...3 pretty possible...outside shot at 4.

Bad news for Cam Robinson, arguably our best OL in the NFL:

Jaguars’ left tackle Cam Robinson is facing a multi-game suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy, as @_John_Shipley also reported.

I think he's been almost sabotaged by Belichick after the bizarre moves he made last season. It sounds like the relationship has really broken down based on off season chatter... Belichick certainly does nothing to dispel the rumors. I just can't believe how they did Mac after he showed such promise as a rookie and even was a Pro Bowl alternate.

Plus the weight of the Brady legacy there...plus it's probably the toughest division in the NFL now. The Brady dynasty occured when they basically had no competition in the AFC east. The Bills and Jets were mostly horrible back then and the Dolphins average at best. All 3 of those teams are much better now...but that's never talked about when Mac is evaluated by the talking heads. A fresh start somewhere might be what's needed.

Assuming the Patriots would trade him, I think Houston should go Anderson at #2...trade back from #12 to gain an extra pick in the 2nd or 3rd that they could package together for Mac. Then go best player available towards the end of the first after trading back.

Lots of what ifs there lol...but at the end of the day, I don't think they trade Mac...for better or worse.
