Figured we'd start a place for HS football information since al. commie is about the only place to get any news and most of us avoid them like herpes.

I watched my mighty Prattville Lions beat the absolute dog shite out of Niceville Fl last night. Niceville looked a tad slow to me but PHS looks like the teams that Clark and Dubose built. Big, fast, and strong. Lots of D1 talent on both sides of the ball.

The big receiver that committed to the inbreds is legit, big and fast. Looks bigger than the 180# he's listed. PHS also has a few big DBs that can play.

Might be an exciting year for Prattville football. Looks like Carr has the Lions turning the corner.

On another note, I watched the Thompson/Central Phenix City game on Thursday night Seaborn is absolutely legit. He threw for over 300 yards against one of the top teams in 6A. He has great command of the field and was clearly the best player out there. We got us a good one there.

Hewitt Trussville beat "Little Brother" High School (who was ranked 3rd in the state) 56-42! Lots of offense. Absolutely no defense.

My high school is in Mississippi so they don't play until next week.

But my Alabama team is Prattville now that I live here. I watched a highlight reel of the Niceville game. Prattville dominated them.

I have been out of state for several years, but I keep up with my school Wilson (Florence). They started the year on a bye.

Have yet to watch any in HSV so far. But in Colorado, soccer is king at the high schools I get to go back to COS once or twice a month and try to watch my grandson playing when I can.

I'm curious if Prattville is that good or if Niceville is in for a long season. They are traditionally the best program in the Panhandle along with Pace and Lincoln.

Choctawhatchee and FWB are also a lot better now than they used to be, so I wonder if some of those kids that niceville used to horde are living on the south shore of the bay now.

Choctawhatchee was a final 4 team last year and they lost their opener 15-13 to Mosley, but their defense looked like a college squad as far as build goes

late 80's Vigor will always have something to say about that- but so could 2026 Clay-Chalkville.

They beat a nationally ranked Creekside (GA) team Friday night

Oak Mountain lost to Pelham via giving up a TD in the last 20 secs of the game. Feels like revenge for last years OM win via hail mary as time expired. Per usual, brutal schedule for OM due to the region. My guess is 4-6 this year. Maybe 5-5 if they can steal one from Vestavia, Hewitt Trussville, or Prattville (unlikely). Giving them W's against Buckhorn, Spain Park, Tuscaloosa Co, and Homewood.

Prattville’s staff and players knew Niceville was arse heading into the game so I imagine they won’t be very good.

From the video I watched, Prattville looks a lot bigger than they did when my son played for them back in 2019. He was only a freshman and we moved to Texas in August of 2020 so I don't have a lot to compare them to, but they looked more like a 6A school physically.

They are. Carr has done some good recruiting and the lines, especially d line, have D1 size and talent.

Columbus High School(MS) hit more licks and smoked more ops than any of the other region schools.

They can’t play football for shite though so thankfully it was a bye

I'm still pissed the private schools are out. WTF was that about? Those 2 little private school leagues are not going to work. It's basically a 3-4 team race in both every year. Yay.

John Hicks coached Niceville for 18 years up until 2018 and he was responsible for turning them into a perennial playoff fixture. I knew John, worked with his wife for several years. The guy named Thompson that followed him kept it rolling until a couple of years ago when he left. The last guy sucked and Niceville went 6-5 last year. They’ve definitely taken a big step back.
Tommy Joe Whiddon is John’s son-in-law and he’s a pretty good young and rising coach. He currently coaches at A. Crawford Moseley High in Lynn Haven. Got them in the playoffs the last couple of years and that wasn’t typical for them. I suspect Niceville will come calling soon to take over there and restore their legacy.

Yea I’m a Mosley grad. Hoping they can hang onto him but niceville would be foolish not to make him the first call

The Knights shut out the River Rats of Guntersville, 14-0.
Might be the worst G'ville team I've seen in 20 or more years.
