Didn't say that had to be Power 5. The point is to put them in to run the regular offense and defense so they are prepared to do it when it matters. It doesn't happen as much as it should. You can mix in more reserves during regular game time regardless of opponent.
I have never coached anything let alone football. But I bet that young receivers get more out of practicing at Bama than they do going out against New Mexico in mop up duty. We have developed countless receivers as freshmen so I’ll trust Saban to identifying why certain guys weren’t ready

You go out there in practice and you MAKE them play you if you're good enough. You whip that DB's arse every play carry out your assignments catch that football and show them you want it and want it badly.
Make that bleep across from you dread seeing you line up across from him. MAKE THEM PLAY YOU. If you can't do that you weren't good enough to start with.

He didn't blame them for the loss. He blamed them for not being ready to play when called upon.
Maybe they can spend less time on twitter and more time on the field.
Nick went fairly easy on the 2021 bunch, but I don't believe he will handle it the same in 2022.

know what the speech was for, but calling out a few players for something you're supposed to be ultimately responsible for is a cop out. It won't have the kind of effect you think it will. You don't come out after a game and blame the loss on a couple of players. If you're the coach, take the responsibility,
After 15 years of Saban being our Coach if you can still accuse him of blaming his players for losses. I don’t know what to tell you. Just bemused at what it takes to meet expectations of some of our fans.

I disagree with that take. You can coach players, but it's their own duty to respond properly to coaching. If they fail to prepare and practice with focus & intensity and prove they're reliable to consistently perform well in practice, they don't deserve to play. Playing time must be earned/deserved.

“The Sack”
Crimson Tide Quote of the Day
“He knocked me woozy. I have never been hit like that before and hopefully, I'll never be hit like that again.” – Notre Dame quarterback Steve Beuerlein after Cornelius Bennett's sack in 1986.

At this point I’m starting to think he is trolling. I could be absolutely wrong but he just seems like he is trolling at this point.
