Personally, I predicted BB8 to be our QB that year, and I thought he outplayed Hurts in the USC game. He certainly threw the ball better. And the "deer in the headlights" narrative was silly. He was a young guy playing in his first game on a huge stage, and he looked pretty good doing it. Just like Hurts' "cool and calm" demeanor. You might not see the nerves in his expression, but you could always see it in his play. People were too wrapped up in both narratives.

John Doe's video series had an interesting take on Jalen's "cool and calm demeanor" that every broadcaster calling a Bama game in the Jalen era has mentioned.

He doesn't look nervous or have happy feet because he is rarely trying to go through the route progression. He looks to the primary target and if it isn't there, he goes into scramble mode. It is how he has played since elementary school and gives very little to be nervous about.

If you're not just joking, I'm guessing you've not seen many road rash cases because as an EMT that's seen a ton I can tell you those injuries can easily happen when you're thrown from a bike - particularly in a state where there's no helmet law (like Arkansas).

As a lifetime motorcycle rider as well as a person whose education is nearly 100% science and medicine, I have a very hard time believing that those injuires, which are obviously direct trauma injuries with force directed into the face, not the result of sliding or forcible movement tangential to the face, came from a moving motorcycle accident. Nothing is abraded. The skin has not been removed in any way.

Additionally, there was no damage the motorcycle. Thirdly, the area where the accident was said to have happened should have resulted in a sliding/laying the motorcycle down, type of accident, which wouldn't have resulted in this type of facial injuries. Fourthly, his supposed passenger was not injured in any way, shape, or form.

Couple those things with everything I've heard from reliable sources about the situation, and no I'm not joking, and I'm very confident that those injuries are the result of an arse-kicking, plain and simple.

The state patrol report indicated the girl flagged down motorists after the accident. Why would Petrino have the girl there, knowing that could create problems, if he was going to stage an accident after getting his arse kicked over the same girl?

He also suffered cracked ribs. I had a motorcycle accident when I was a teen that broke my collar bone, but otherwise you'd not have known I was in an accident. Then, this past April, I was seriously injured in a work accident when a tree hit busted me in the face as I was clearing some property on a front end loader. It crushed my orbital eye sockets, jaw line, the plate of my face was even separated from my skull at the hairline. I was rushed to a trauma center where I spent a week and had major surgery. My face looked a lot like his in the pictures I've seen. I had no punctures or peeled skin either. Just a crushed face.

Not really important anyway, I don't guess. Just an observation.

Edit to say that she's not even that good looking. You'd think a millionaire coach, on a campus with so many fetching young ladies, could do a little better than that. But yeah, of course I'd hit it. My wife says men are dogs.

I wish I could go to the way back machine and find the thread where they trolled her and her fiancé's wedding registration guest book. Was probably the funniest shite I have ever read on the Rant. I believe the guy forgave her and actually went through with the marriage.

yeah. I would like to see that. Years ago the fiancee of an ex Auburn qb, I think Stan White, had an online wedding registration, and the same thing happened. It was absolutely hilarious. Of course, it was taken down pretty soon but was great while it lasted.

I don't think I could do it.

Let me be the first to say that I wasn't physically there and don't know the whole story 100% for a fact. I just think there is over-whelming evidence that the motorcycle story was a lie.

As I understand it, Bobby was confronted by the boyfriend (and possibly his friends). There is conflicting stories as to whether the arse-kicking took place in front of the chick, but I believe it likely did. After said arse-kicking, boyfriend said he was gonna blow up Bobby's career, and was going public with the whole thing. Remember, Bobby exerted influence to get a state employee a job through improper channels, who became his subordinate, and then started a secret affair with her. This is all sorts of illegal.

And so, Bobby, having no other choice, invents a story that is less damaging to his career, bringing in his State Trooper (or some kind of cop) buddy to lie and make a fake police report in the middle of nowhere. Perhaps it's where or close to where the arse kicking took place - not sure. I have no doubt the chick was there or at least the State Trooper said she was.

Remember, that State Trooper got in all sorts of trouble with his involvement, and he got caught making contradicting statements multiple times. I believed the Blue Wall of Silence saved him in the end.

There were photographs of the scene of the accident, and it looked like the motorcycle had been gently laid in its position. There weren't significant tracks leading up to the bike. The bike also had no visible damage, definitely not what you'd expect to see given Bobby's facial injuries. The chick, who was supposedly present at the time of the accident according to certain accounts, had no visible injuries of any kind.

Yes, as soon as the arse-kicking happened and the boyfriend vowed to go public, Bobby went with the motorcycle thing to explain the injuries in public. I don't believe for a second that the neck-brace was legit. His facial expressions betray him. He also ended up trying to spin stuff in such a way as to make it less bad, and I stress that. Bad was unavoidable - he was going to be fired. He knew it immediately after the arse-kicking. But the lie ended up clouding the narrative just enough for him to be hired in another state and resume his career. And it worked.

(If he was trying to save his job at Arky, that definitely didn't work - but I doubt that was ever a possibility in his mind. The only way it was is if the boyfriend wasn't going to go public, or they could stop him from doing so.)

There was also no attempt to erase her name from the lie, as boyfriend was telling everyone anyway. And so she was used in a motorcycle accident story, corroborated by a uniformed cop friend, in order to explain facial injuries and attempt to sway/cloud the public opinion regarding the shite-storm to follow.

Also, and this must be said, it is certainly possible for there to have been a motorcycle accident and an arse-kicking, if the boyfriend confronted him while driving said motorcycle. Some stories support this theory. But the closest thing to the truth can be found by researching the State Trooper's changing story and investigation into him, if memory serves.

Again, I'm more than happy to believe the motorcycle story if presented with sufficient evidence to support it, but I just haven't seen much that does.

And so the question must be asked - if a simple, innocent motorcycle accident was the thing that brought to everyone's attention the fact the they were dating, and the entire scandal can be avoided by making a police report without her in it, then why was she included? Omit her from the story and Bobby's still the coach at Arkansas.

The only logical reason is that she was going to be involved anyway, and so create sympathy if possible. Use her for something.

Another explanation is that Bobby had a serious motorcycle accident, one that seriously injured him, and for whatever reason he called and involved the one person in Arkansas whose involvement could destroy his career and implicate him in several state crimes. Yeah, ok.

Being close early allows Saban to get the boys' attention. So was WW2 after Pearl Harbor. How'd that one end?
