Not going to lie, if we lose early and Arkansas wins the SECT pushing us to a 3 seed and Arky up to a 2 seed - i'm going to be salty about it. Not even sure how likely that is, but that would suck.

Even if we have a higher seed but Arkansas goes farther than Bama in the NCAA tournament, I'm going to be bothered by it.
All the talking heads will be saying we won the conference but Arkansas was the best SEC team this season.

Its starting to sound like the team that makes the deepest push into the tournament is getting the 2nd seed and the other is getting the 3 seed.
I'll be fairly content with just winning one game and getting out. I absolutely hate making the championship game and losing. In the years when Mike did that and lost to Kentucky, it seemed to never help our seeding. The championship game needs to be moved to Saturday imo.

Yeah probably, but that doesn't necessarily make it true either. The NCAAT is all about the draw and matchups. Every year there are good to great teams that get bounced early while less talented teams get hot and go on a run.
Having said that, Arkansas is really good this year. We are the conference champions, but I don't think we are head and shoulders a class above them.

Yea. I agree. I just want as much positive press for Bama from the tournament. Helps with recruiting, helps the push for an updated arena and hopefully helps keep Oats at Bama.
Plus, Arkansas is good but I don't like them or Musselman.

We need to play them in the tournament, and beat that butt. They are about due to cool off.
They caught us at a bad time for us, when they were hot, at home, with a whistle happy crew. It's about time for shots to start falling again.

We are the CBS game Saturday against Georgia.
It must have been a difficult decision for the CBS program executives to not pick a Kentucky game.

I guess there is a world in which both could get a 2 seed but I think the loser would need some help to get them both on the 2. I fully expected to be a 3 or 4 seed and won't complain one bit about it. That is as long as we don't get embarrassed on Saturday by losing to A&M.

When i'm thinking logically, i'm just happy to be in the position where we are safely in with a high seed and not sweating it out on the bubble again.
But at the same time, we haven't been this good in a long time and it's hard to not be greedy.

I just don’t see that happening unless we lose to Uga and 1st sec tourney game AND Arky wins out.

That's pretty much where I am right now as well. Past trauma will not allow me to seriously entertain the idea that this season is merely the first in a long stretch of great teams that Oats will field, so I really want us to make a high seed count.
