What were yalls expectations before the season? I think I wouldve been happy with just getting into the tournament and not having a late season collapse.

Honestly, it’s hard to believe this is the same team we watched in December. The team playing in “Maui” was pretty awful. Even factoring in the recent “poor play”, February Bama would beat December Bama by 20+. It’s almost an unrecognizable turnaround and a great job by the staff.

Listening to Oats preseason it sounded like we had a lot of covid issues and weren't able to practice as a full team very much.

Glad we got it over with preseason and haven't had many issues during the season but it probably contributed to us not starting out very well.

Gonna be weird being favored in the first two or 3 ncaa tourney games. Can’t wait to fill out a bracket

How the frick is Houston 5 in the NET?

They have only 2 Q1 wins/4 Q2 wins and have losses to 7-8 East Carolina and 9-11 Tulsa.

How does that make sense?

I expected a bubble team. I didn’t think they would/could improve as much on defense as they did.

Yep. If you’d have offered me a 6-7 seed lock with a week to play I’d have taken it with a big smile.

I kind of had us at 4-5 in the league with a 7-9 seed in the NCAA tournament.

Honestly, Fever, my preseason expectations were pretty high given that Oats had put together a pretty perfect team for his style once we got Bruner. I recall seeing that we were picked 3rd in the league and feeling like we could make a run at KY Jelly for the championship. The preseason struggles were a huge letdown for me.

I expected Jelly and Tennessee to be better, so failure to win the conference was not going to be a huge issue, but I expected us to be a dangerous team that could go deep in March. If you’d asked me about seeding then, I would have said 4 or 5.

So in some ways, we have exceeded expectations. I have to say that we were a very consistent team. Two conference losses is quite consistent. I am a little disappointed that Arkansas seems to be the class of the league right now instead of us.

It's been 16 years since we've been better than a 9 seed. And that year (2005), we were a 5 seed that lost to a 12 seed (UW-Milwaukee, so Bruce Pearl?).

My expectations were to be a bubble team, with a ceiling at around a 6-7. To be a solid, maybe the top, 2 seed has been incredible.

As someone else said earlier, we're playing with house money at this point. It's already been a fantastic, successful season. Only way I'll be disappointed is if we get upset in the first round. But I think our defense is too good to be upset that early.

Getting to the Sweet 16 would make this the best overall season I've ever seen by Bama. The elite was awesome, especially upsetting a 1 seed. But this has been a better overall season.

We were actually one of the only schools to be able to have all 30 preseason practices because our last covid situation before the season started was in August.

B is Duke.

Not sure about A, but I wouldn't take either if the season ended right now.

ETA: Didn't think about Ole Miss being team A. If that's the case, the statement "team A isn't even on the radar" depends on who's bracket you consult.

CBS has OM first four out and Duke not mentioned.

Bracketology has OM first four out and Duke next 4 out.

Lunardi and ESPN on the other hand have Duke in the first 4 out. I can't speak for Lunardi, but every single one of us knows why ESPN has them there.
