They are a poor team either way, they had lost 5 out of their last 6 with him.

other than the last 2, their games have been close.
It looks like the wheels have come off now though. I watched most of the second half of their game last night. They still played pretty hard. They just dont have a ball handler now.

Would be fairly surprised if we score that much.

I'm expecting something like 75-73 Bama

Yet it's ranked #2 in the nation in efficiency. There's some really uniformed people getting paid to write stuff.

Look at the next paragraph where Fiutak states, "The defense actually is great."

He's just writing in a descriptive style, where he first suggests something but comes back to address it later in the same text.

I don't think he's uninformed, at least in this case.

Don't like those offensive numbers one bit. Hopefully with Bruner back and Herb getting healthier we will turn it back around.

Look at the light red line, sloping downward in both graphs. Just means our offense and defense is currently trending down, relative to where we were at one point.

Offense, the black dotted line, fell off a cliff (probably due to Bruner's injury), but is recently improving.

Defense is more consistent, but still declining (probably due to Herb's injury) over the past few games.

Based on what? We haven't lost a game by more than 8 points since November.

I realize we've been banged up, and there are other factors to consider, but I keep going back to something Oats said a few weeks ago about not peaking too early and saving their best basketball for March.

Just wonder if any of this is related to a throttling-down over the these past few games to get the team ready for post-season play?

Or am I being too optimistic?

I think we will see it start to uptick again from here to the end of our season with Herb healthier and Bruner back.

Our offense looked as good as it has all season vs Georgia with Herb finally healthy. I know it looked pretty crappy vs Vandy but I blame that on it being senior day, going with a different starting lineup ect.

Arkansas plays a little more like we play, so the offense will probably look better against them. More up and down, helter skelter bball. I think the problem for our offense has mostly been Petty and Primo. Teams just go out and take away their 3 pt shots. Those 2 are our best shooters but they are not good at dribble driving to the basket. Shack gets more outside shots because he is much more aggressive at driving to the paint, so they have to guard for that too.
