It’s all the same article - Bama portions linked below the main link for those who want to cut to the chase:
NCAA Basketball: Atlantic 10, Alabama, and Gonzaga vs Baylor headline Mailbag
Who is winning the SEC?
What is Alabama’s ceiling and what’s their floor?

If he's going to be a 38% 3pt shooter who can also dunk on opponents so hard their own mamas will pretend to not know them he can take as many shots as he wants IMHO.

I'm happy with Miles' contribution so far. But let's be fair, he's doing his work primarily in garbage time. He has definitely been getting more and more minutes lately. But a couple times when he got in with the ones he looked a bit lost out there and got a quick hook.
Not sure how well he's done on defense but his size should create some problems on the perimeter. I don't love his shooting stroke but it's effective. He looks like he could be a good player for us next season. I hope the big dunk can elevate his confidence.

he has a number of TO's in limited PT

Yeah but most of that is because he's a freshman who has probably never been a primary ball handler before. They're putting him into situations where they know he will turn the ball over a lot so that he learns what he can and cannot do at this level. Assuming he does develop a sense of ball security he has an NBA wing skill set otherwise.

That's true, but he has also been asked to play PG with the walk-on unit, so he hasn't had a ton of help, and he isn't going to be the primary PG when he plays with the 1's. That's developmental work.
Obviously he isn't anywhere near a finished product yet. I'm not saying that. I'm just saying I think the tools are there for him to develop into a VERY GOOD player for us. Especially in this 5-out system. He is everything you are looking for offensively from a wing in our system.
- 6'7"
- 38% 3pt shooter
- doesn't hesitate to pull an open, uncontested 3s
- adequate ball handling
- not afraid to drive to the rim
- can FINISH with authority at the rim (see UGA)

That's true, but it's not like he is clanging them.

The perception of the Crimson Tide often focuses on their outside shooting, but they take the most pride in their No. 1 defense, says Nate Oats's team.

As long as we don't fall into 4 seed territory I'll be happy. That's when you start drifting into the potential to play good mid-majors or underachieving but still really good P-6 teams in round one. Also it sets up the possibility of having to play Baylor or Gonzaga in the Sweet 16 if we're lucky enough to make it that far.

DMiles will be a handful! Defense and being consistent day in and day out seems to be his only issue! If he puts it together late then Alabama would really be a problem! You could run a lineup out there with Herb 6'7, Miles 6'7, Petty 6'5, Ellis 6'6, and Reese 6'9! Straight up scary!!

What are the odds that Bama gets placed in this rinky-dink thing and we’ll be left fighting over 1,000 tickets

The men’s basketball selection committee gave us the annual sneak preview Saturday, and there wasn’t much controversial about it—but that doesn’t mean that creating the final product is going to be easy. With the varied number of games played, the truncated nonconference schedules and the X factor COVID-19 pauses, there could (and probably should) be a considerable range of opinions in the committee room.
Seeding Dilemmas, Life in the Fast Lane, Mid-Major Bid-Chasers and More
Alabama (3). Record: 17–5, 12–1 in the Southeastern Conference. NET ranking: Ninth. Bracket matrix seeding: the third No. 2 seed. The debate: Dominating a league vs. muddling through the nonconference. The Crimson Tide are running away with the SEC, holding a three-game lead in the loss column with five winnable games to go. The flip side is non-con losses to bubble teams Stanford and Western Kentucky, in addition to Clemson and an Oklahoma team missing its best player. Early indications are that the committee is all-in with the Tide, awarding a No. 2 seed Saturday.

This season has been a joy to watch unfold. With each passing day in February, and the sense that the wheels are not falling off, this season reminds of the Wimp Sanderson years. I felt we always had a chance to win because you knew we would be solid on the defensive end. There was no compromise on that end of the court. Oats seems to have that same mentality. His handling of Miles and Quinerly seem to indicate that. Hope we get some guys healthy again and continue to enjoy the ride. It is good to be a Bama fan.

Our defensive transformation is the most shocking thing this year. We all knew about our offensive prowess, depth and experience, so that part was expected. The buy in and execution of all our players on the defensive side is simply mind boggling. That new coach deserves huge credit for this in my opinion.
Of course Oats does too.
