So NET rankings are going to be used to determine seeding right? Their algorithm seems a little off, I wonder how they are going to deal with Colgate and Loyola Chicago. Do they just admit the flaw and leave Colgate out?

The committee pretty much showed that they are ok with overlooking the NET when it doesn't seem to line up with other metrics by putting Mizzou at 16 as the last 4 seed.

Which I think makes 100% sense because Mizzou is getting punished too hard by efficiency numbers and they are not the only example of that. Also the exact opposite can happen as well.

Oats contract:
quote:

$50,000 – For winning the regular season SEC championship
$50,000 – For winning the SEC Tournament
$50,000 – For Alabama participating in the NCAA Tournament in the first two years of Oats’ contract
$25,000 – For Alabama participating in the NCAA Tournament every year after
$50,000 – For every win in the Final Four or national championship
$25,000 – For being named SEC Coach of the Year

Looking at $125k as is. I hope he gets more, lots more.

This amount should be higher.

Yep - we've been the best team in the W/L record, played one of the harder schedules, and clearly been the better team in almost all of our games. Our point margin per game is +13.7.

It's been one hell of a dominant run in conference play.

Women win, and as important, win by +10 points. The halftime score was 39-27. The second-half score was 53-51. Sheesh.

Alabama - 92
Auburn - 78

Record goes to 13-6 (6-6). 6-6 now in Q1/Q2.

NET was 34 going into the game - Auburn's NET was 117, so winning by 10+ was big. Next game is @ Florida (10-8) (NET 59). Badly need to win that one too with MSU, A&M, Arkansas to end the season.

I would say Florida is a must win for them to make the tourney. Can’t really count on winning any of the last 3 even though we are on a heater against MSU and they aren’t nearly as good this year.

It certainly would give them some breathing room. They'd probably be in the Top 30 of NET and have 4 Q1 wins at that point. They wouldn't be a lock, but they'd be pretty close.

Not winning either of the Ole Miss/Georgia games was a killer. They'd be 14-5/15-4 right now and a lock if they win one or both of those.
