Yep - the ability to breakdown the defense and force them to help on dribble drives is the difference in our offense being grind it out and being wide open.

Right now nobody has forced teams to do that. Maybe Bruner coming back changes things up a bit? Maybe JQ can get back on track a little? Maybe we start shifting Ellis into that role some?

Something has to change because the current version is basically just dribble, pass it around, somebody drive and take a tough, contested layup.

He shouldn't take them, but there is a reason he's open and Petty isn't

We'll see how good of a coach Oates is if he can/will make the changes needed.

I don't hate losing, I hate losing while playing badly. At some points in the game the play was embarrassing.

Missouri remaining schedule:

If they play well they definitely a shot to win most of those games. I think we have to assume they'll go 5-2 or 6-1, which would put them at 11-5 or 12-4 and mean we'd have to finish or 4-3 or 5-2.

And who knows if they end up playing the LSU postponement or not.

I also see a lot of hesitancy and lack of confidence in our guys. They don't seem to want to put up the shot. You could not drive a 10 penny nail up our guys' butts right now.

This is the first time in a long time that there hasn't been at least one player that I literally hated watching play.

I am going to have to amend this statement. Rojas now falls in that category and Quinerly driving into the lane is a close second. I know CNO wants 3's or layups but IMO part of coaching is knowing when to put the stop sign up for someone. Rojas should not be allowed to attempt 3's. It should be pointed out to him that the curved arc on the floor means he is not in range yet.

Yea, I think they've really lost confidence in their decision-making on offense and it's making them play a step slow.

Primo has scored a combined 4 points in the last 3 games.

The good news out of this is maybe we don't have to worry about losing him this year. Would love to see him just continue to have a solid Freshman year on a good team and be back next year on hopefully an even better team.

Losing to Missouri on the road is not a loss I'm going to beat myself up over.

It’s just gone back to being so stagnant. It hasn’t been the fast, free flowing movement where the ball is swinging all over the place. Some of that is just defenses playing us tough, but now it’s on Oats to do something differently for us or we will continue to be meh.

You live in participation trophy fairytale land, got it. There’s 1 champion per season, we really should quit making up useless trophies, titles, and banners
are you that guy on twitter who used to be named CrazyAboutFootball? His entire “brand” was saying this EXACT thing over and over. You couldn’t even mention being happy about winning the SEC or making it to the Final 4 without him saying nothing else matters besides winning a National title

Utilizing KenPom’s predicted winning percentages, Alabama has an 87.9% chance of winning 5 or more of their final 7 games, which would clinch them the SEC title regardless of other results.

This is assuming that Missouri’s games are not made up, although if they were, the Crimson Tide have a 60.3% chance of winning 6 games.

Interesting statistical find. John Petty Jr. performs at an elite level offensively in games which he connects on his first attempt from three

That initial shot can really create sustainable rhythm

I just wish we would have lost by like 7-8 and not come back the way we did just to lay an egg the last three possessions. It still stings a little bit but I went into today kinda expecting a loss.
