The team hasn’t won an SECT title since 1991. Hasn’t won the regular season since 2002. So you can take that shite and shove it, because I’m gonna celebrate the hell out of it. I might get my own banner.

You do realize that UNC, Duke, Kansas, and Indiana all have banners for their conference championships right?

I love how he knows Saban is a great leader and the perfect example to follow, but I also like the change of pace he brings by maintaining his confident and cocky attitude. He’s got a likable arrogance about him that is kind of refreshing.
When asked about expectations...
Most coaches: “I’m not sure, but we do have some nice pieces this year and look to be a competitive team in this very tough league”
Nate Oats: “Oh we’re rolling through the SEC and should easily be a high seed in the NCAA tournament”
After a loss...
Most coaches: “We just have to play better as a team and just want it more.”
Nate Oats: “It would be nice if Reese would actually get in the gym and work on his shot. This 0 for 6 shite every game is getting old.”
On Coach K saying it’s crazy that NCAAB is playing during a pandemic...
Most Coaches: “You have to respect everything Coach K says as he’s one of the coaching GOATs. I think we should be playing, but completely understand how he feels that way. It’s a crazy world we live in right now.”
Nate Oats: “F*** you, dude... You’re only saying this now because your team sucks arse”
I’m paraphrasing a bit here, but that’s the completely unfiltered vibe he has during a lot of his press conferences that I just love. Exactly what this tortured fan base needs to hear from their basketball coach.

The funny thing is an SEC regular season championship is the definition of a real accomplishment.
It's a long slog that's meant to separate the elite from the good from the meh from the awful. It's not like it's devoid of variance or luck (given the schedules aren't the exact same), but it's a pretty good indicator of who was the actual best team.
I would certainly hang a conference tournament championship banner too though
