It's telling that he's always a dick when they're losing. The media making him out to be a good guy when he's really far, far from that is one of my least favorite things about college basketball.

From stories I’ve seen, he’s really good to his guys. But he also seems to be the biggest sore loser in CBB.

Yeah I'm not saying he's Gregg Marshall or anything. It's more that he scores like a -3 on the sportsmanship scale but the media treats him like he is everything right and good in the world of basketball. They do the same thing with Boeheim. He's a world class piece of shite with literally decades of evidence supporting that fact but he's never painted as a villain by the media. So for me it's the hypocrisy. Oats is kind of an a-hole too, but at least he owns it.

Alabama - State game replay started a few minutes ago on SECN.

Footnote: Against MS, we had 5 players in double figures. Pretty good. Herb was our leading scorer.

Javian Davis' contributions were negligible. Not to demean JD, but CNO's personnel decision was spot on.

I think he’s preparing an excuse for Oats after the inevitable late season collapse. He seems like a good guy, but he has always had undying loyalty to the current basketball coach.

Some of y’all have amnesia. It wouldn’t matter if Oats was John Wooden reincarnated, we’re crashing and burning at some point down the stretch of the season. The good news this time is that we have plenty of cushion to still make the tournament

In the back of our minds, we're all thinking it. The inevitable heartbreak is soon to come.

Unless you win the tournament, every team ends the season more or less in heartbreak. 67 of 68 teams lose. So, odds are not in Alabama's favor anyway.
But, that should not take anything away from watching consistent good performances. Sure they'll be games like yesterday where the team struggled, but that is pretty much the norm in college basketball, even for the elites. Not like our football when most games are decided by halftime.

Let’s be clear, I believe this is the best mixture of coaching and talent we’ve had in my lifetime. It’s not all that close either. I’m enjoying the Hell out of this.

I am mostly joking (maybe just partially), but our basketball program has had a notorious streak of finishing SEC play incredibly poorly. I’m not talking about losing in the NCAAT. Hell, I’m just glad we’ll get to be one of those 67 losers again.

shite we're not asking for much. I think 100% would have been satisfied if you told us we'd make the tournament. Now we look like a team that could make a serious run in the tournament, so I'd be good with at least a Sweet 16.

Avery’s last year, someone added Passink to a twitter group chat I’m in for Bama basketball, and he stayed in there for the entire year....never talked, but you could see where he read everything. So remember, this is Avery’s 4th year when we’re all tired of him. Passink was taking up for him on twitter basically every day....so one day I see him ranting on twitter about our fans wanting him fired and he subtweeted our group saying “twitter group messages” think they know what they’re talking about it was funny. Someone kicked him after that, Avery got fired, he finally accepted it, and it worked out for the best for everyone lol

I'd be shocked if it happened this year. We are ranked in the top 10 for a reason, our team is really good. The hardest part of our SEC schedule is behind us too.

I still expect us to lose a game or two before the season is over but it's hard to envision any crashing and burning.

Yea the defense is really suspect in the SEC. With the way we play offensively we’d have to be terrible to lose some of these games

Realistically what do y’all think is needed for 1-3 or 4 seeds in the tourney? I think if we only drop 1-2 more games we’d have a good shot at the 1 since really there’s one or two open spots with Baylor and Gonzaga seeming to have two on lockdown and Nova likely a 1 as well. I think 2-3 would put us a firm 2 with 4-5 putting us anywhere from a 2-4 seed depending on who we lose to and when. I think we’ll likely lose 3 or 4 more games and end up on that 2 or 3 line. Which is above and beyond any of my wildest dreams for this year

Cool. My wife was an asst coach at one of the high schools in the Shoals area. They played Lauderdale Co a good bit. She is a baller.

Yeah, shes has always been very athletic. Didnt play BBall til junior high. Was always a soccer player before that.

There's a video of her kicking fields goals at Bama's indoor facility somewhere.

Bama would need to win the SEC and not have more than 1 more loss to have a legit shot at a 1 seed.

Frankly, I'm focused on what is the magic # to ensure a tourney slot from the regular season record and make us all sleep better over the next 6 nights knowing February is coming.

Lose 1 (no more than 2) more game and win the tourney should get them a #2...anything more'll move us to 4-6....that is unless we simply implode.
