From what I've seen so far, I don't think he's going to be an NBA player. He's been great for us, but I don't think he quite has the athleticism to make it.

He has good size, plays really good defense, is a good shooter, and has a very high Bball IQ. Not sure he can make it in the NBA but he can make money playing basketball somewhere for sure.

Yea if Bruner wants to play basketball for money he'll have plenty of chances somewhere in this world.

I guess Bruner's +62 is simply an artifact of missing games?

I'd assume so, yea. That seems like a number that should probably be broken out by possessions or minutes or something to equalize for comparison.

21.3 points per game while shooting 64% from long range in his last three games for Petty.

"With their 'five shooters at all times' and their modern style of play, Oats and Bama are five or ten years ahead of the rest of college basketball."

We had a discussion about this pages ago, and I can't remember if I responded, but I at least agreed (in my head) with a point that someone made about us being in trouble if our offense revolved around Herb being the leading scorer.

I think somehow we've simultaneously reached a point where 1) it doesn't anymore (e.g. Petty), and 2) Herb has really elevated his offensive game.

So, we've got a five-year run incoming?

John Petty & Alex Reese leaving this team next season will be the most important move under the Nate Oats era. These guys are the softest athletes I’ve ever laid eyes on.

I’m so sick of hearing “ohhhh John petty, he’s a top notch shooter...when he gets hot, watch out!”
Bullshiit. He gets hot once every 20 games.

He’s actually a terrible shooter that just gets hot once a month.

I'm still pissed this guy is allowed in this thread

Eh, he's mostly harmless.

He'll probably never live down his takes on Avery, Saban, Petty, Herb or the Trendon Watford recruitment though.

Haha I've been defending Petty for years now so I'm just loving the player he's turned into and love seeing the terrible takes exposed.

How many teams are running the type of offense we are these days? (Threes, layups, and FTs)

Honestly, it's more common in the NBA to see this kind of offense. But even the NBA will take some mid range shots. It seems like it the lane is clogged, we'll kick it out and start over. With the tempo we play at, we could do that 2-3 times, and still not have a shot clock violation.

Watford is a good player. He's actually having a very good year. But we made him our bitch last night.

His body language after watching each of those 3's drop was priceless.
