I'm absolutely loving this "Alabama had a miracle shooting night" line that has started to take hold over on the TigerRant.
That sort of thing can explain away a game you lose by 14 when the other team is on fire. Sure. Sometimes it happens.
To act like that explains away being down 40 points with 10 minutes left in the 2nd half is something else.

Yep. High percentage close shots, and 3s are with 50% more points. Shooting 33.3% is like shooting 2s at 50%. With the line in college basketball, those are good odds.
And with us having 4 guards/forwards that are capable of scoring 20+on any given night, we are fricking dangerous.

What about our defense holding them to their worst outing of the year?

what will the State line be Sat? Vegas going to have to kick that number up a notch after the last few games.
Ala -8.5?

But for real, I can't believe any of this. In first place with straight up beatdowns on SEC opponents.
Not just SEC opponents. We're beating down quality opponents that are expected to be the tourney.

Even if we go 7-5 that’s 19-8(13-5 or 14-4)

The other lie they are telling themselves in conjunction with that is that most of the 3s were actually contested. I mean yeah some were kind of contested, but only in the sense that an LSU player was kinda close to the guy shooting it and lifted his arm in the air. Their perimeter defense last night was atrocious and Wade did nothing to correct it. Someone beat me to the punch last night, but he's Mark Gottfried. Slimy as hell, the offense works because of how much talent he has rather than any kind of schematic advantage, and he doesn't give a shite about defense.

Good call then. Because that's exactly who he is. The main difference is that Mark was in decent shape and all of that purple makes Wade looks like Grimace.

Basically - I also think Wade's teams play a little more physical than Gottfried's did, at least they have in past years. Their long dudes like Emmitt Williams played in your face on the boards. Gottfried's teams were finesse shooting teams.
But in general the comparison fits. Cheaters, not great tacticians, terrible defensive coaches, etc.

But how much experience does Wade have with night golf?

don't know if this has been discussed in this thread, but if Bama can build on this with Oates. Can Bama afford to keep him. if Duke or UNC come calling will Bama pay to match a blue blood school to keep him in T-town

I have zero doubts that if the time comes Alabama will be willing and able to pay whatever we need to pay to keep Oats around. The question will be whether he wants to go to a blue blood type program, and if the answer is yes, money won't really be the issue.
All I know is that's a problem I'd be very willing to have.

Final thought on the LSU game - the "I'm baffled" response by their fans to us lighting them up is just hilarious.
#13 most efficient offense (#2 in the SEC) in America
vs
#127 most efficient defense (#13 in the SEC) in America
It's roughly the equivalent of Ole Miss being shocked that they gave up 600 yards and 60 points to Alabama this season in football.
