That shot chart is a thing of beauty.

like several others. i'm gonna celebrate their achievements thus far. but not getting overly optimistic about the remaining schedule. do not want to end up in "jinxer" court, with sheriff bosworth.

Gonzaga is just ridiculous. They're going to go undefeated.

Shack has 17 assists in the last three games.

Alabama is 7-0 and, at least according to my ratings, has the easiest remaining schedule in the SEC.

I'd really love to see what our rankings would be using games since WKU

If we beat state we are going to be a top 10 team. The sky is the limit for this team if they stay healthy. We have a 5 Star point guard coming off the bench. Think about that...

Random thought but how many players on this squad have either fixed a deficiency or added an element to their game under Oats?
-Reese has toughened TF up and is better all around on the inside
-Petty is now a great on the ball defender and has improved so much as a ball handler and distributer
-Herb has added a 3-ball, is finishing at the rim better than he ever has, and has improved as a ball handler
-Shackelford is now fantastic at driving and finishing and the stats indicate that hes doing a good job racking up assists
Thats pretty much every player on the roster that got significant playing time last year. All of them have improved

I gave Rojas kudos last night. I'd also like to give Herb some love for making multiple layups. He stayed under control and put them up with touch, which he has struggled to do for 3 years.

Herb was a 50% free throw shooter when he got to campus.
He's now a 79% free throw shooter.
That's just pure work in the gym. Over and over and over and over and over.

Elsewhere... @AlabamaMBB was in full force, draining an SEC record 23 3's as they rolled @LSUBasketball
The Tide only took 4 shots that weren't within 5' or behind the arc!

Oddly enough, my metric has the @AlabamaMBB game against Kentucky as a "better" game by shot selection!
This was likely due to the fact that they took more corner 3's in that game

We play a big rotation and everyone gets to shoot has got to be the easiest recruiting pitch there is.

Even more good news as far as the schedule is concerned.
We get Mississippi State (4-3, T-6th) at home on Saturday coming off a 64-46 home loss to Ole Miss, and elsewhere in the SEC:
#19 Missouri (3-2, T-4th) at #6 Tennessee (4-2, 3rd)
LSU (5-2, 2nd) at Kentucky (3-2, T-4th)
So the Top 6 in the current standings all play each other on Saturday and 3 of them will get another loss.

Of all the stats last night, I think my favorite is Darius Miles took eight shots in nine minutes.

I agree that they’re ridiculous, but I don’t think they’re 2018 Villanova level. I know other strength of schedule rankings have them way higher, but right now KenPom has them at 97th overall with opposing defenses collectively ranked 132nd. That heavily tilts those rankings in their favor.
While they definitely have a better resume, I don’t think they have had any games that were more impressive than our last 2 outings. I’m not saying we’re better, I’m just saying if we keep playing at the level we’ve played in conference play we’d be a very tough out for them IMO

People were too harsh with Miles last night with the ball handling, shooting, and turnovers. Yes, he took 8 shots in 9 minutes and had 4 turnovers, but dude has played 35 minutes all year and might be a redshirt if we weren't blowing people out.
He was being asked to run the offense and be the primary ball handler when he isn't a point guard in the slightest. And he was playing with a cast of Kendall Wall (walk-on), Tyler Barnes (walk-on), Britton Johnson (walk-on), and Ambrose-Hylton.
It did give Oats a good chance to coach him up.
And he also scored 9 points in those 9 minutes, which isn't too shabby given the supporting cast most of the time he was on the floor.

Oats also pretty clearly told him to shoot 3s to break the record
