He was. Herb, Petty, and Reese were on our team then too.
It seems like forever but that was just the 2017-18 season. Russell has played all 4 years but can play a 5th because everyone got a free covid redshirt.

Anymore?? I've lived in Nashville since 1985 and I can't remember them caring about sports ever. Baseball maybe a little since Corbin has been here, Basketball they were pretty decent for a while but did not invest in facilities that I can remember and football would be NEVER.

When he crosses over from right to left and then shoots...he makes a high percentage of three's. He got a go back to his STRENGTHS!

Went back and looked at the box scores for our NCAAT games against Virginia Tech and Villanova in 17-18.
Obviously we were way over matched in the Villanova game, and the box score shows it. Sexton had a decent game to no surprise, but Reese, Galin and Giddens were arguably the next three best box score players. Not going to beat many teams like that and definitely not a team like that Villanova team.
I wanted to look these NCAAT games up primarily to see how Petty performed and he was a huge bust against Villanova. It would be great if Reese was still capable of giving us the kind of production he did in this game. But since we were so clearly outclassed by that Villanova team, there really isn't a whole lot i'm taking away from this one tbh. This is what Herb, Petty and Reese did against Villanova:
Herb (15 mins) - 0/1 FG, 2/4 FT, 2 points, 3 rebs, 1 ast, 1 TO, 4 fouls
Petty (24 mins) - 1/5 FG (all 3P), 3 points, 1 reb, 2 TO, 2 fouls
Reese (14 mins) - 2/5 FG (all 3P) 3/4 FT, 9 points, 5 rebs, 1 ast, 1 stl, 1 blk, 1 foul
The Virginia Tech game was so much fun. Back and forth battle all game. Sexton scored eight of our final nine points (all FT's) in the last minute of the game to ice it. Petty from the Virginia Tech game is the Petty we want and the Petty we need to make a run to the Final Four. This is what Herb, Petty and Reese did against Virginia Tech:
Herb (34 mins) - 3/4 FG, 6 points, 4 rebs, 3 ast, 1 stl, 1 blk, 4 TO, 3 fouls
Petty (29 mins) - 6/9 FG, 6/8 3P, 20 points, 3 rebs, 3 ast, 2 TO
Reese (7 mins) - 0/1, 0 points, 1 rebound
The only other postseason game these guys have ever played was the infamous NIT game against Norfolk State. We all already know about this game so there isn't anything to say, but I figured I would go ahead and include what Herb, Petty and Reese did in that one as well.
Herb (27 mins) - 6/10 FG, 1/1 3P, 5/8 FT, 18 points, 3 rebs, 2 ast, 1 stl, 1 TO, 1 foul
Petty (30 mins) - 4/10 FG, 3/8 3P, 11 points, 5 rebs, 5 ast, 1 stl, 2 fouls
Reese (20 mins) - 5/10 FG, 5/8 3P, 2/2 FT, 17 points, 7 rebs, 1 stl, 2 TO

Didn't avery take him out late because he wouldn't stop talking to their players? Which was a bit embarrassing because we were getting drilled.

I don't remember, but you may be right. The last time Sexton's name shows up on the play by play log is at 5:21. Sexton did lead us in minutes played with 30. Dazon and Key each had 29.

Oats is using philosophies similar to what he used in his six seasons with the Bulls, including two as an assistant to Bobby Hurley.
“I didn’t really necessarily want to move,” Oats said. “Our kids enjoyed it there, and our family did, but this opportunity was too good to pass up.
“Year two, though, you’re already seeing what the potential of this place is. I think that had a lot to do with the deciding factor when we decided to take this job.”

#MarchMadness gets started tonight, so we decided to simulate the tournament in #CollegeHoops2K8 to see what might happen!
The results include a school winning its 1st title...and a No. 11 seed making the championship game.

March Madness returns this weekend after a two-year absence and we’re all excited to watch the action on the court.
Last year, after the NCAA Tournament was canceled, we were reduced to running virtual simulations of what could have been. I did that using updated rosters in the legendary video game that is College Hoops 2K8. The results were surprising but also pretty realistic (Oregon ended up being Kansas in the simulated championship game).
So, in preparation for this year’s tournament, I did the same thing to see how the video game had March Madness playing out. Here are the results from our College Hoops 2K8 simulation:

Hopefully he hates moving as much as I do. And hopefully he and his family enjoy the weather and southern hospitality as much as he has said they do. If that's the case, it will take a monumental opportunity for it to be classified as too good to pass up from what he has now.

Yeah, I wouldn't take anything at all from that. Just thought it was a fun little read. And I think UCLA has a strong shot to beat Michigan State tonight anyway.
I feel very confident that Michigan State isn't making the championship game.

Petty's psyche has been fragile since hes been in Tuscaloosa...I've thought the same thing more than once.

For whatever reason a lot of people seem to think that basketball programs cost as much to run as football programs, which just isn't the case. Resource allocation is never going to be a problem if Alabama decides to prioritize basketball. This isn't the same situation as a dude like Matt Campbell at Iowa State who may be happy at his current job but also understands that his employer is never, ever going to be able to match what a place like Michigan or Oklahoma can do in terms of financial commitment and attracting recruits. The job prestige at Alabama isn't the same as it is at UNC, but if Alabama decides it wants to kick everyone's arse every year in basketball too we can keep up with anyone in the country in an arms race.

If this team wins 3 more games, are they the best basketball team ever at Ala?
