Can you imagine the stink if Duke bows out of the ACC tournament and then comes back in a few days and says they will play in the NCAA tournament if chosen...and then gets picked as one of the last four in.
I know their AD said their season is done but I'll believe it when I see it.

Why do teams not always do this on the other teams worst FT shooter?

If you foul before the ball is inbounded the other team gets a FT + possession.

You run the risk of it being called an intentional foul, plus there’s a small chance you can get a steal on the inbound pass.
