That ump wanted to go home. Nobody to blame but ourselves though.

We weren't winning anyway. If he doesn't K someone else does. Agree it was a horrible call and a case of the ump getting caught up in the moment, but we lost that game in the bottom of the 8th

Maybe next year fellas. Lose a few key guys but return a lot as well. Perhaps Andy Phillips will learn how to coach hitting in the offseason. We've got a few freshmen coming in that can rake it, hopefully Andy doesn't frick them up.

Chandler Avant in particular is a guy that can hit for average or power. Has a good chance at batting lead off for us next year, kid can run like a deer. Liked what I saw out of Hughston for a freshman. He needs better discipline at the plate, but he's got a pretty swing.

It was 2-2 , would have been 3-2 and a walk puts the tying run on 2nd. Freaking up just screwed us with a B.S. call

And Smith wasn't aggresive, he swung at a ball 2 feet out of the strike zone.

I don't want to fire Gaspard as long as he fires the hitting coach.

We simply have zero idea about how to approach situational hitting.

You don't swing for the fences with the bases loaded and one out. You don't bunt with 0 outs on a 3-1 pitch.

It is just utter nonesense.

How many seniors do we have ?

Well we did go 3-2 but there is no excuses for scoring only 7 runs on a team like Kennasaw St. in 3 games.

The players know they let one slip away today, maybe we will get a new hitting coach.

Austen Smith is our only senior that plays. He and Turnbull are the only 2 that I'd say are definitely gone. I don't think any of our other juniors would be wise to leave, though some will be drafted we don't have any first or second rounders.

We signed the top middle infielder in the state, Chandler Avant. Rated 201 in the country

Top outfielder in the state, Jamal Howard. Rated 159 in the country.

Catcher Matt Morgan is rated 185 overall.

We've got 4 talented bats coming in next year which should provide a little depth. Our DH play was just atrocious, as evidenced by starting Elliot there in the regional. He and Webb both hit lower than .175 on the season

Avant will probably play 3rd next year and Vincent will either move to first or DH. Likely move to first and let Cucjen DH, or put Hughston at DH and have Howard in left. The future is bright as far as talent goes, they just need coaching at the plate

I've heard both ways about Ben Moore. I think he stays. Playing another year of SEC baseball to me, is better than playing Low A ball. One of the guys on the team said scouts like Kamplain alot and could see it either way. I think ultimately they both stay. Team has a chance to be good next year. I agree with all you said about the talent coming in. I'm excited.

And I'll be back in Bham next year to watch them at the Hoover Met

Well, we're improving. I guess that's all we can ask for at this point. We even had an almost-great season.... let's just finish next year.
