It’s not a forum per se, but there’s a podcast on YouTube that discusses Bama baseball. They’ve had one pre season podcast (featuring Coach Vaughn) but it should be out weekly (aka The Weekly Joe) once the season starts.

Doesn’t look like UA is going to post today’s press conference, so here is Bama Central’s version. Opening Day Eve is here!

Rob Vaughn confirmed that Peyton Steele and Bryce Fowler will both be starting in the outfield tomorrow. Northern Kentucky transfer Logan Devonport will not be active this weekend due to an injury, which could mean we see Tuscaloosa native Eric Hines in the mix. @CWsports

Head coach Rob Vaughn on freshman Myles Upchurch: "Myles just came in extremely polished, and I think they talked about stuff. And his stuff is good; it's going to be a mid-90s heater with a really good up-and-down breaking-ball feel on the slider. His best pitch might be his changeup. He can throw any of his pitches in any count; that's pretty advanced. More than anything, I think his poise this weekend shows me maybe the most like he has carved out hitters for two weeks." @CWsports

Myles Upchurch is a 2025 RHP/1B with a 6-4 215 lb. frame from Hyattsville, MD who attends St. Albans School. Big and strong build. Flexible high leg raise delivery, has a very fast arm from a 3/4's arm slot, tunnels his pitches well and repeats his arm slot. Fastball sat at 94 mph and topped out at 96, going to be a high velocity arm at the next level, fastball pretty straight but thrown to spots for strikes. Threw both a slider and a curveball and both were high quality, high spin offerings, slider is thrown for strikes and curveball often buried for swing/miss intent. Has an idea on the mound and top shelf stuff that is thrown for strikes. Good student, verbal commitment to Alabama. Named to play in the Perfect Game All-American Classic.

Kind of 6 in one hand, half dozen in the other. Good if he’s truly elite. Bad if out upper class men are just that underwhelming.

Sorry I’m late.

Meant to post this last night.

Figured I’d be the first this year.

Saturday’s game has even moved up to noon (the email came tonight). No indication of a double header yet. The email was short and sweet:

Tomorrow's game vs Washington State has been moved up to a 12:00pm first pitch. Gates will open 1 hour prior.

7 strikeouts in 3 and a third innings.
