He inherited a team and program that had allowed bad habits to become the norm. We’ve been complaining about the amount of penalties for several years.

It’s horrific
The rest is just young guys in a season where they have relaxed practices due to the new staff needing to win over players early

Washington had a ton of penalties last season. They were like 124th in the country on a list where #1 is the least penalized.

He was trying to let his blockers get to their men. If he runs too fast, he eliminates his blockers and gets tackled easily. Problem was, his blockers did nothing.

That’s not even remotely feasible in today’s CFB dude. The players run the program, hence why the GOAT retired.
