If Wommack comes out and plays a three front tonight we deserve to lose. Every game we’ve lost is because of his inability to stop the power run game. We have big strong defensive linemen to stop the run but if they’re not on the field what can they do. We need to man up on the outside and play 7 in the box. If they start going air raid on then we adjust but don’t give them 6 yards a carry. I’d like to see us play more nickel today out of a 4-2-5.

Here it is. The most retarded statement of the season.

Bro, he’s definitely right about at least 2 out of 3. Vandy and OK ran straight through our defense. Name the teams that gave up over 250 yards rushing to Oklahoma? I’ll wait

This is absolutely false. The defense only cost us the Vandy game. The other two lie squarely on the shoulders of the offense. However, everything you said after this statement is true.

Really? Giving up over 200 yards rushing in one half, isn't terrible?

Don't forget the score should have been 20-3 OU at the half.

A 3-man front is great for stopping a power run game as long as you have two huge if's.

D-line must be like a wild boar. Stay low, dig in, tear shite up, and control 2 gaps. 2-gap has to be an every play mindset. It cannot be turned on and off game to game. Alabama is now a 1-gap DL team.

LB's are generally like horses. A horse is usually either forward or sits back. Then there is the horse that runs from any aggressor until it is cornered. The run-away horse is not loyal to anything or anyone but itself. A horse that sits back tend to be more controllable and shifts side-to-side well. A forward horse reacts quickly and tends to be more stubborn. Its first move tends to be forward / down hill with power.

To be a good power run stopping team you need wild boars up front, a forward horse at Mike and a sit-back horse at will. What we have on DL is no longer a bunch of mean nasty wild boars. What we have at LB is a collection of loyal horses that sit back and some non-loyal run-away horses. The inside zone read and a strong running north/south RB/QB are the kryptonite for the D system we run.

Bro.... Poor defensive scheme is milroe's fault.. don't you know he's got such a grip on this team that even the DC can't escape. [\sarcasm]

I didn’t say the defense was good. I said they didn’t cost us the game. Despite the rushing yards allowed, with any kind of offensive pulse, we still win.

Answer: Alabama and the Maine Black Bears. The same Maine Black Bears that gave up 59 points to OK and are 3-5 in the mighty Coastal Athletic Association conference.

There were multiple teams that didn’t even give up 250 total yards to OK, including a 4-7 Houston team. Houston gave up 75 yards rushing and 249 total yards losing 16-12. Our defensive staff and players were somewhere between a horrific Maine and a terrible Houston team against a one dimensional offense, that’s utterly embarrassing.

Facts will not be tolerated here. It's the milroe hate train forum now. Better get on board.

But in all seriousness... I think the defense has been ok... They have that bend don't break mentality. It isn't ideal, but it does allow teams to get momentum. We're just used to the defense that doesn't allow teams to get momentum.

Vanderbilt and Oklahoma destroyed the Alabama defense. Let's not forget that OU missed a field goal and dropped a wide open TD pass in the first half.

Not trying to deflect but we have more issues than Milroes inefficiencies. It’s a shame all is being blamed on him even though his play has been horrible and I’m honestly ready for him to move on. We never try to establish the run game with running backs. We never call screen passes to negate the rush. We constantly give up big plays on third and long. We can’t pressure the quarterback. We can’t stop the run.

1 thing I've noticed, Wommack's main focus for his defense seems to be generating takeaways when he needs to focus more on just playing sound defense and stopping the run

Vandy just stuffed UT on 4th and 1. I can’t remember the last time I felt like we had a chance to stop a decent team on 4th and 1.

Alabama has a coaching staff problem. Let's hope a change in OC and DC will fix it.

Name the teams that only scored 3 points on OU.
Milroe matched the offensive output of mighty Temple.

Defense gave up 10 fricking points to OU. Yards matter for jack shite.

Milroe scored more for OU than he did for BAMA.
Milroe gave Vandy 14 points as well.

Take any qb that has started for BAMA since and including Blake Sims and BAMA is 1 loss or perhaps undefeated. Even with their TERRIBLE, AWFUL, NO GOOD Defense and this headcoach who clearly doesn't know his arse from his elbow.

Milroe is such a boom or bust master of inefficiency that the offense is completely fricked if the defense gives up too many long, time consuming drives. I get the frustration with the offensive output, and I don't disagree at all, but neither side of the ball has picked up the other much this season.

With the way Milroe lit up Oklahoma, it was terrible how the defense blew it. No excuse to not win when the offense puts up *checks notes* 3 points.
