I don’t think Clemson will break 0.500 this season.

By the way, the incredible hold/tackle on Clemson that didn't get called on their last TD was insanely bad in comparison to what got called on Bama Saturday to cancel out a long TD run. Holding calls need to be reviewable.

Or, Byrum Brown is just a really big dude who can run over people but isn’t all that great of a passer and probably should be playing TE?

i'm watching the Apple Cup. i had a hypothetical question pop into my wee lil brain. if deboer and company had stayed at washington, would they be making any noise in the big ten? i'm thinking a bit more than what they've done in the sec. simply because theres far fewer legit teams to wade thru.

Golding still coaches a shitty defense.

They played week zero to get a chickenshit September bye before us. I’d just take the win at Kentucky and against FSU the following week given how this season works out. Wish we played one more home game before a conference road game. Wish we weren’t already catching a rest advantaged opponent by week 3 either. However that’s the hand we’re dealt.

If we lose again to this godawful team, but at home and not week 1, fricking oof. They are hot garbage. You almost have to try to lose when you're +4 in turnovers against damn near anyone.

FSU has some individual talent, but in a revenge game we'd better take them to the woodshed at home.

I want to see a junkyard dog mentality from this team.

Of course, road SEC game first...nothing is a gimme.

That FSU game was ugly. SMU played poorly. 4 turnovers and boneheaded penalties almost got them beat.

I think Bama wins but sleep walking out there could get Bama beat. I don’t want to see any of our guys jogging out there like last year.

There is no such thing as a sure thing anymore in this era. We’ve seen that up close and personal over the last few years.

I think Kentucky is going to be a big test for us. The quality of athlete on the opponent’s sideline is going to step up and offense usually struggles more on the road.

I’d love to see a much more cleaned up run game this weekend. The replay of ECU is more encouraging for the OL than the live action. ECU was probably a good stress test despite being a “bought win” on paper. Their defense was tuned to not let us hit the deep passes DeBoer’s approach wants to hit. It’s all drop 8 or rush 6. The ball is going short one way or another.

Kentucky is somewhat improved on offense. Better play selection and Kenny Minchey, while not great, is a massive upgrade from what Kentucky has usually been stuck with at QB.

Their defense though, has been shaky. They gave up A LOT of yards in the air to Youngstown State. I think Bama can and will move the ball on them.

The question will be can the defense limit Kentucky? I think so but wouldn't guarantee it.

SMU should've beaten them by 30 if you look at the stats.

Total yardage

SMU - 585 yards
FSU - 324 yards

3rd Down efficiency

SMU - 8 of 14
FSU - 2 of 15

Sacks

SMU - 3
FSU - 0

I thought the same until I looked at their schedule. Look at this fricking cakewalk:

GA Southern
UNC
@Cal
Miami
Charleston So
VT
@FSU
@Syracuse
GT
@Duke
South Carolina

That is a travesty of a schedule, only one ranked team left and it's only week 2. If they're trending anywhere close to .500 going into November Dabo won't make it to Championship weekend.

Clemson finished 7-6 last year with a former 5-star QB at the helm.

Their starting QB this season is from Birmingham and he wasn't offered by us or Auburn.

Their talent levels have fallen off a cliff since NIL and the Transfer Portal era started.
