That proves nothing.

We signed over the limit last year and we didn't have extra spots from previous years because we used them alll and can't count back too far.

The only top SEC team that signed more than 25 was Auburn and they signed well under the amount last year.

The same insiders who made up Arik, Ennis and McKinnley being all Bama are the same ones who made up the fact we could make up number and take that many.

The only way we could have taken more is if Baker or Burroughs decommited or oddly accepted a blue shirt which wasn't going to happen.

Nick and Staff worked dayum hard on Jackson and Rakestraw for two guys we weren't going to take. Sounds more like if one or the other if not both had selected the Tide then Baker and Burroughs would be out and both had to know that.

My theory is that Baker and Rakestraw were competing for the same spot. If we felt good about Baker's grades, he was always getting that spot. Rakestraw was the back-up incase Bakers' grades weren't where we wanted them, or if he got mad that we didn't let him sign in December and decided to go to Arky or GT. Once things became clear Baker was signing, we let Rakestraw know the night before and he chose Mizzou over Texas the day of. That's my reading of the tea leaves anyway.

On Burroughs, I think him getting to sign was contingent on Jackson. Had we gotten Jackson, I suspect Burroughs would have been a Blue Shirt. I believe he was aware of that possibility and okay with it. So either way, Bama was only signing 25 yesterday. I think it all worked out just fine, even though I really wish we had gotten Jackson.

Can you direct me to who and where this was said so I can better understand your argument?

Baker and Burroughs both signed before Jackson or Rakestraw.

Did Rakestraw tell people on Monday?

I posted this in a different thread.

quote:

Unless Coach Drinkwitz is a fabulous actor, he hadn't told him that he was coming to Mizzou and Drink didn't look like he thought he was picking them.

That doesn't mean he didn't tell the Bama and Texas staffs but it seems unlikely.

Was Rakestraw letting staffs know early reported? It didn't look like he told anyone.

from al.com

quote:

“Extremely high motor guy,” an SEC staffer told AL.com of Anderson. “… He’s a loose edge rusher that can move his hands and feet at the same time and has a variety of moves. He’s got natural feel for (pass rushing).”

“One of my favorite kids in the class,” another Power Five staffer told AL.com of Anderson. “… Unbelievable kid. Humble. Works his arse off. Comes from a high school program that is one of the best/organized practices we have ever seen. Practices and plays tough as shite. Will has great parents and family. Future first-round pick because of talent and will outwork everyone in the building.”
