His confidence is shot.
Hopefully get the closer role right soon. Otherwise, heartbreak city coming in the postseason.

Just like last year it's kenley's job unless he gets injured

It's up to the manager to make a move. Jansen can't move himself down the leverage pecking order.
Jansen has one pitch. Its a 91-94 mph below average cutter. If I had to pick a pitcher in all of mlb to attempt to get a hit off of it would be Jansen. I'm sure everyone that played ball got in the 90 mph batting cage just to see what it's like at some point- the truth of the matter is when you know what's coming and you get it timed it's not that hard. I imagine MLB hitters know their best chance to get the Braves if they are behind is in the 9th. They're probably looking forward to it.
I see how Snitker spent 100 years in the minors. We'll probably be stuck with him forever same as Bobby Cox who was the worst post season coach who ever lived.

The Dodgers certainly haven't done us any favors.

Strider with the 2 hit shutout with 16 strikeouts breaking Smoltz's Braves single game strikeout record.

16 Ks and he had an outside shot at a Maddux going into the 8th. Didn't issue a single walk. Ridiculous efficiency from him tonight.

We still can't make up a game on the Mets due to the Dodgers sucking arse.

Braves chase Alcantara with 3, 2 run homers across 6 innings. Up 6-1 in the bottom of the 6th. Time for the bullpen to infuriate y'all .

Snit uses Iglesias in the 9th last night with a 7 run lead. SMH
Jansen definitely is the closer unless his right arm falls off.
I dont understand.

Just tuned in a bit to the Braves game.
Becoming like the movie ground hog day.
Another blown save by Jansen.

Snit is hilarious, I think he has money on the Mets .

Braves pull it out. Jansen blows the save. 20 minute delay in the top of the ninth for an injured ump. Marlins walk in the winning run with bases loaded. 2-1 win

I'm a bit conflicted. In any case, we need Kenley in October... in whatever role. Pitching the 9th or just a setup guy.
Part of me is happy we're trying to work him through this. He's not really shown this poor level (though he was a little shaky at times early in the year... but not much more so than most closers not named Edwin Diaz or Ryan Presley) in his last couple years, despite already showing some signs of decline. I would imagine he'll get it together and at least be decent in some role. But, in a pennant race where getting a first round playoff bye is so important, I'm not really sure if we can afford him continuing to go out in the 9th and blowing saves. He's hurt us recently. Whatever the case, hopefully it'll come together in October for him. And maybe Matzek can find that 3mph of velocity that he has mysteriously lost since last year. And maybe Ian Anderson can get it together in Gwinnett and be able to help. And Soroka. And so on...

Jansen is washed up. Hes got no juice.
He cant throw strikes, he cant miss bats, and he cant hold runners on first. Anyone that reaches is as good as in scoring position due to his ridiculous delivery.
Perfect recipe for a Braves closer under snitker. Guy is too big a pussy to make a move.
Does anyone think Nick Saban would still be running jansens fat arse out there ?

Braves pull within in 1 of the Mets with a 7-1 win over the Marlins last night. The bullpen still tried to give away a 4-0 lead in the 8th . I want to believe, but this bullpen currently is not getting through the Mets and the Dodgers in the playoffs unless they just transform all of a sudden like last year. It seems pretty clear Snit is not going to make adjustments with it.

What does their (the Mets) schedule look like?

Only 2 series against winning teams, Braves and the Brewers. The rest is the dregs of baseball. Braves have a west coast swing starting tomorrow (Oakland, Seattle and San Fran). Series against winning teams include the Mariners, 2 with the Phillies and the Mets.
