Here's the thing... we do not know what Brees was talking about 5 mins before or after that comment. For all we know, he had just finished a 10 min discourse on the topic in which he acknowledged there is a problem and maybe he even offered a solution... But we will never know the full scope of the situation because the reporter chose to isolate that one comment. We just do not know... But we do know that Brees has a reputation for being compassionate towards the people he interacts with (regardless of race), so for me to believe he made that comment with the intent to hurt anybody or be insensitive...
