McNeese State recently claimed they are the best mid-major job in the country. Then hired former LSU coach Will Wade. Then suspended him. Per American Press...
quote:

There are also other recruiting limits put on Wade by the university in a preemptive strike against any upcoming NCAA ruling linked to his time at LSU. LSU fired Wade before the 2022 tournament after the NCAA formally served the university with a Notice of Allegations. That came after an investigation into potential violations committed by Wade and the program.

For McNeese, the suspension is a way to show the NCAA it is willing to take the lead on any punishment.

LSU fired Wade after getting McNeese to agree to hire him until he’s paid his due. Then after the punishment is handed out, McNeese has been reimbursed, and the smoke is cleared, Wade comes strolling back to LSU like the gangsta baws he is. It’s brilliant! McNeese gets a heckuva coach for awhile and a lil sumpin sumpin extra to invest in facilities, and LSU gets off on the cheap AND the Killa’ Pear back!

Why do I get the feeling a struggling program asked McNeese to take on Wade for a while to clear his punishment at low cost?

Most likely ran the hire by the NCAA and they agreed to these being a suitable punishment to Wade. They get their skin. McNeese gets their coach.

So, are they supending Wade for violations he did at LSU.... or violations he has already done at McNeese.... OR violations he is planning to do at McNeese?

:clownshow: - although I'm not sure what I expected from McNeese.

It's a condition of his hiring. It's not like he did something on day 1 to get suspended. Do better, Larry.

I'm not saying this to you, but to them - that's one of the dumbest things I've heard since 2005
