So he calls up Fox Sports and they put him on the Big Ten Studio show for $100,000 a year and he collects the rest from PSU. Meanwhile he gets to enjoy a free first-class flight to New York and a couple of nights at the St. Regis 16 weekends a year along with some free Brioni suits. Tough gig.

I'd be looking for a job on a yacht in the Greek Isles.

The contract says coaching and/or broadcasting. I agree that's a great idea

He becomes an "analyst" for OSU. Takes the minimum pay and collects the rest from PSU.

Hmmm...does it say College or Pro level coaching...or just "coaching". Take a HS job and don't stress.

I'd find the closest boys & girls club and coach peewee and grasshopper football. Get paid 18K a year and donate it back to the club, along with a 100K and write it off every year while making PSU paid the difference.

This is normal in all big football contracts. It's nothing new and they cant force him to take a job he doesnt want. Just has to be "looking"

It used to be the norm. Mitigation clauses have been removed by most agents nowadays.

If Saban was still around he could be the new butch jones, washing sabans car, getting donuts & little Debbie’s for the coaches while taking home $35K and sticking it to PSU for the rest, while seeing how a real coach WINS!

think that is a pretty standard part of the contract normally. So they have to blow an interview a couple times of year and say sorry i didn't get the job.

What?! He is going to collect 48 million dollars. How did the agent not do a good job for Franklin?
