This decision was made back in August. I hate finebaum but he took a ripping for saying in September that Meyer wouldn't be back and it was a done deal. Meyer had little to nothing to do with this decision.

“Retiring” is an involuntary but graceful exit from a shitshow. Urban was getting tangled up in some nasty shite that was resurfacing and tOSU wanted nothing to do with him. He got paid, all is well.
