LSU fans received some good news on Friday evening after reports trickled in that five-star cornerback back commit Kade Phillips was no longer planning to visit Texas this weekend.

The Missouri City, Texas native was planning to head to Austin on Saturday for the Longhorns matchup against Kentucky but is no longer making the trip.

Phillips was initially committed to Texas but flipped his verbal pledge to LSU in August.

He is considered one of the top five cornerbacks in the country for the class of 2025 and plans to visit Baton Rouge next weekend for the Oklahoma game.

Just wait until Texas offers money that LSU can’t or won’t match.

Yes, in the NFL. Texas wanted this guy as a safety. Corey wanted him as a corner. He is now considered a 5 star and top 5 corner.

Good news. Get Stewart and Solomon Thomas and try to keep as much of the rest as you can, and I would be fine with it.
