ESPN's Pete Thamel has reported that LSU safety AJ Haulcy will not play in the first half of the season opener vs. Clemson as a result of his ejection in his final game at Houston last season.
quote:

LSU safety A.J. Haulcy will not play in the first half of the Clemson game, the NCAA tells ESPN. Per the NCAA: “In the last game of the 2024 season, A.J. Haulcy was ejected from the contest, initially listed as unsportsmanlike conduct….

LSU was not informed of A.J. Haulcey's suspension until Wednesday, and Haulcey was not informed while at Houston of the suspension, per sources. The NCAA says Houston’s coaching staff was made aware in December via a formal letter.

How does NCAA wait until just now to announce this?

They didn’t wait to announce it. He played for Houston , so Houston got the notice last summer.

This should be a NCAA penalty for Houston for not informing the athlete.

So typical of the NCAA to pull this shite against LSU. Seems like they have a blind eye concerning so many other teams. Hopefully the staff was able to make its own assessments of the penalty and was simply waiting for the shoe to drop on the atypical NCAA move.

Take the first half kickoff to receive and then be totally unpredictable in (not just first half) all offensive drives. Sustained productive drives including capitalizing on amazing speed is the key. Sloan will have to call the best game of his life. The defense will need to play clean but aggressive.

Let's not forget Clemson's recent record against the SEC. I sincerely doubt Dabo had solved his team's shortcomings against teams superior to most of their ACC opponents.

If Clemson had the best tight ends in the NCAA hammering the safeties, I'd be more concerned. As it sounds like Haulcey may be our best safety, this is still a deep room and the situation is not simply " next man up".

Time for collective bargaining to enter the picture and the power 5 tell the NCAA to take a hike.

I smell a rat. A clemson reporter got this information? Yeah, from Clemson which had been holding on to the information until the last minute. Dirty tricks by Dabbot. Lets make them pay Saturday night.

The "rat" is that fact the NCAA notified Houston the player was suspended for a half. Had this pesky Clemson reporter not brought this up and LSU would have played him, the penalty could have resulted in an ineligible player/forfeiture so you better be glad it came out now and not after.

College Football needs to end relationship with NCAA. CF has absolutely 0 need for NCAA, but NCAA is entirely dependent on solely college football. College football pays the 7 figure higher up salaries, college football pays for their Hawaii team meetings and conferences. Do you know what you do to a kid that you give endless money to who starts acting like a spoiled brat? You cut them off. You let them figure out how to survive without your money. NCAA is a spoiled little kid brat. CF needs to cut them off.

Dabo leaked it. Guaranteed. Some jackleg reporter in SC wasn’t watching game film.

No need to leak, the NCAA had notified Houston months ago the player was suspended for a half. No conspiracy, just LSU not doing its homework on a portal transfer. Nothing else.

How do you spell his name wrong twice in one tweet in which he got it correct twice in the previous tweet.

This just means he's gonna cram a full game of production into the second half

That's some chickenshit right there. Exit the NCAA.

I smell real fear. As soon as Whit said AJ would be someone everyone would be watching. This announcement comes. AJ is obviously a good human being. He stopped and helped some people in need. I would like to think he has grown and learned from the penaltythat he committed. But, at this point it kinda shows lack of integrity on the NCCA because this is obviously not in the spirit of the rules... Let the kid. Either way LSU will win. So let the kid play, or don't, as he may decide to embarrass your team and the NCAA.

I understand the need to enforce a penalty. But when something occurs in a previous season and a player has obviously grown since, we reward that growth with suspension? Maybe I am wrong but I would like to think all of us could learn from this. Geaux Tigers!

During all the formality of transfer paperwork processing this was not disclosed? Where was the due diligence of our administrative staff? In private business this type of oversight would result in an LSU staff member being held accountable

Trump claims he saved College Football. To Make College Football Great Again, he simply has to place his will, weight and ire upon the NCAA. Sick the FBI on the NCAA, raid their offices, Dabo's and any such reporters' offices involved to get to the bottom of this this. There certainly is a conspiracy here for the Truth to Come Out. We need his concerns about this addressed on Truth Social.
