LSU wide receiver Kayshon Boutte announced Monday evening that he will return to the team in 2023 for his senior year.

Boutte entered this season as one of the top wide receivers prospects in the country but saw his NFL Draft stock dip after catching 48 passes for 538 yards and two touchdowns.

In his announcement, he made it clear that he believes in this LSU coaching staff and is locked in on winning a National Championship.
quote:

First off, I just want to thank God for the position he has put me in. Without Him, there would not be any opportunities. I would like to thank my family and friends for continuing to support me throughout my entire career both in high school and at LSU. I want to thank the fans for supporting me through the ups and downs of my career:

LSU has been nothing but amazing to me. My growth under the new staff has helped me to reach new levels. While we did not achieve the overall goal, we still fought and produced results that will be a stepping stone for future success. The goal is always to win a national championship at LSU and that will never change. We made strides this year but ultimately fell short. That is why believe we can accomplish many things moving forward

I believe in this team, coaches, strength staff, nutrition staff and training staff.

It is important to follow your deams and live with the results.

While some stories will end here, mine will not....

LET'S LOCK IN AND FOCUS ON THE MAIN GOAL OF ANY LSU TIGER:

WINNING A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

I wonder if this is a positive result of NIL. Kids aren’t as desperate to get paid, cuz they already are

A good player coming back for his senior season, this is a refreshing change and you have to attribute this in part to BK's presence. Boutte sees the trajectory of this team.

Just as great as a top notch transfer or a commitment. BK and staff doing work, I thought Boutte was a sure goner.....

This is a total shock. He lacked a lot of effort at times this season, kind of thought he was going through the motions for the draft. Guess I was wrong.

We had a similar experience in 2019 when the players who could have left for the NFL stayed because they knew that we had something special. I think we had more NFL players on that roster than ever before. The reason was because we had some that could have come out the year before, but didn't.

This is great news for LSU! Hopefully he finishes his degree and gets to the top of the NFL draft

I'm glad he is coming back as long as he plays to his potential. I saw him pull up on several passes where he was not going make the extra effort to catch them. I would think if he is coming back then JD5 is not coming back because he will never be a Nuss and will not throw the 50/50 ball down field.

You started with a dumb comment and then doubled down on it with another one

I was going to comment, but I’ll just echo what Gulf Coast Tiger so correctly said.

His draft stock will still be based off potential. Unfortunately, a JD led offense will never showcase Boutte's talents. No downfield pass threat.

Holy crap. I guess he isn’t opting out for the bowl either!! Amazing. These are the kind of announcements Bama players have made for years while our backups went pro early. Great job BK and Gordon.

What? LOL, Bama's best always left. Julio left, Ingram, Trent, Derrick Henry, James Carpenter, Amari, Metchie, Tua, Mac, Ruggs, A'Shawn, Dareus, Diggs. On and on. Hell, Bama even lost Slade Bolden and Vinnie Sunseri early. This perception is totally false and laughable.
