The difference between Chavis and Baker is Chavis at least had elite defenses. His issue was terrible offenses kept his defenses on the field. Baker has been around some of the best offenses and still can’t get his defenses off the field. It’s terrible.

The narrative continues. Baker is a mid-tier defensive coordinator. He’s a terrible schemer who relies on blitzing to bail him out. If Kiffin didn’t kill it in recruiting and transfers on the defensive side we’d be fricked this year.

All I know is I drove up from Knoxville during before the Blue Grass Miracle and it was shocking. I’m sure a lot has changed since my one and only visit.
It was literally a stadium in the middle of a field.

Lafayette is the worst with backing into spaces. With a majority of the drivers terrible at it.

We should never run that game-plan again. If you’re going to run that zone with that much cushion you better pressure the quarterback back. If you need to spy then do it but send more than 4 and be multiple. Keep the QB worried about the pass rush and the zone can work. Don’t pressure and you’re down 17 plus pts at the half.
Blake Baker deserves all the criticism associated with losing this game and I for one am concerned about playing any QB with a pulse as a result. The shameful mess of having the players but lacking the X’s & O’s is something that should drive all LSU fans nuts. We have seen enough of this BS.

Baker is not a good game schemer and lacks situational intelligence. He also doesn’t know how to utilize personnel against a mobile quarterback which makes him obsolete in today’s game.

Miami did this some and had almost no success. They also pressured up the middle and disrupted Ole Miss significantly.
I’m not saying rushing 4 some of the game or situational isn’t prudent but over 85% of the snaps is dumb play calling.
