One big question mark for me is the currency aspect of bitcoin. No one wants a currency that fluctuates like this.

Imagine accepting 10,000 worth of bitcoin for a product and by the time you convert to dollars (topic for another day) and it’s lost 3%! Not smart business.
Or conversely, paying 10,000 worth of bitcoin for something and the value of bitcoin jumps 3% after the transaction. Ouch. Not smart.

So if the intent of bitcoin is to be a viable currency, the volatility has got to reduce.

had a hospital stay last year, and the billed amount was $178,000 just for lodging, meals, and checks on my vital stats. The insurance company “discounted” that $143,000. I want to see itemized billing to see what cost $178,000 for 5 days. There’s no accountability, so billing is astronomically wild.

wild indeed.

There is probably a tax motive for marking the costs up and settling for less. Not sure but I suspect it.

Elon and Huang on stage

Posted by SlidellCajun on 11/19/25 at 11:00 am
Just watched Elon and huang on stage together for a Saudi Arabian forum.

They’re answering questions about the future and other issues.

A few takeaways-

Elon-
-In @20 years there’d be no need for currency.
-He then went on to say that with AI and robotic advances, there’d be a large reduction in poverty.
-He said work will be voluntary. People can work if they want to but not necessary for most.
-Humanoid robots will be the biggest thing ever.

Huang said that AI would replace jobs but that people will still work but much differently.
There will be something called accelerated computing.
-AI bubble- there is a lot more to be built so he doesn’t acknowledge a bubble.
-Working with Saudi Arabia to build supercomputers including accelerated computers which is the future.
- computer usage will be much more specific to the user. The internet in particular will be much more refined to the users wants/needs.

Both agreed that we will need massive power advances. Electricity generation is incredibly challenging. Elon said space has to be used for power needs.

I found it amazing to see these 2 tech and business icons on stage at the same time.

He’s doing fine and as a Louisianian, I would rather have the speaker be from here than have a speaker from somewhere else.
He’s a huge personality and not sure he’s really tuned in to the day to day.

Recruiting, meetings, minutia of players with issues to admin pressing for reports….

Gruden might not be down for all that

Yes but not all players have that ability

And as a fan, we root for players who stay with the team and become a part of the fabric of the TEAM and thus the school.

Enjoy rooting for mercenaries.

Healthcare- the next great debate

Posted by SlidellCajun on 11/19/25 at 8:21 am
Huge issue. Serious issue. It’s an America first issue imo. We all need healthcare at some point afterall.

Trump didn’t really run on fixing health care. Interestingly though, He recently tweeted something about being sick of insurance companies making “ Trillions” off of the system. That hints at something that smells like government run healthcare or maybe more regulated insurance system. Hard to know what he really intends.

Obamacare isn’t working but I’m not sure it ever was intended to work. I always thought it was a bridge to single payer, government run insurance. For its failure, it’s increased the number of those insured. It’s just become too expensive so I expect that number will show decline going forward.

I think it’s failure is going to lead to the next big political debate.
The argument comes down to whether or not healthcare is a “right”. Democrats argue that it IS a right. As such, They also argue against the profit motive built into our system in the varied elements from doctors, to pharma, to insurance.

I am a capitalist. I struggle though when it comes to profit motive for healthcare. I’ve had some experience that rubs me the wrong way. Maybe some of you have as well. I also think there’s room for a profit in the system. Comes down to need vs want.

I also struggle with a system that accepts everyone and paying a tax that supports that. I know what that’ll become. A massive political football. An expensive football at that. And most won’t pay a dime but they’ll need the most health “care”. I don’t apologize for not wanting to pay for fhr fatty who smokes, drinks, does drugs and eats like a carny. Accountability will be lost.

With that, I have issues with our genetics.
I’ve spoken to doctors, geneticists and other medical professionals and anecdotally, I’m told that a single payer system in the US could be disasterous. Our genetics are askew. We are a melting pot and with that, we have wierd genetics. That brings wierd illness and disease.
Where single payer works, the genetics are predictable. Maybe European countries have steady genetic profiles. We dont.

Thoughts welcome

before you get into the good cuts and there's a whopper of a markup going on and I can only hope Trump's team can get this under control.

I see what you did there

More than anything else, I’m just convinced there’s a massive pool of capital that will flow into bitcoin over the next 10 years.

But why?

I don’t know but I get the sense that the entire market hinges on Nvidia

Of course but what I sense is that he’s working the market without honest intent.
Lane wants to stay in Oxford and this is window dressing to get them to ante up.

It’s been a gentleman’s agreement to not poach coaches from each other.

I just don’t see him at LSU

I wish we would take offer off table

Posted by SlidellCajun on 11/18/25 at 3:15 pm
I think it’s clear that we’re in the hunt for lane and have a substantial offer on the table.
I think Florida does too.

I’ve always felt like Sexton is working the market as he knows and is expected to do . He’s got THE hot commodity and there’s at least 3 teams vying for it. It’s his job to get him the most possible.

We want answers and we get rumors, message board know it all’s, media spin and every day it’s another day without real answers. As a fan, it’s exhausting.

I have always thought that sexton was just milking this cow for all it’s worth as he should but that Lane wants to remain in Oxford at least for now. He has a rare opportunity to bring them something that many fans never thought possible. It’s been a great season. Why would he want to leave what he currently has? How can he look these players in the eye if he intends to leave after the season they’ve had?

So I can’t help but feel like we’re just being used. As I sit here now, I can’t help but want to see the rug get pulled out from Lane and Sexton by both LSU and Florida. It’d be a heck of a show.
I would love it if lsu and Florida took their offers off the table

One thing to note about sports media is that it’s got heavy bias toward various programs. It’s not like regular media where bias exists along political lines.

Look at Tim Tebow. He’s been lobbying hard for Kiffin to Florida. same for Chris Doering. Cole Cubelic is an auburn guy.

When Lil landry panicked with his comments, these bias media people jump all over it and make it harder.
