Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports
Former LSU star quarterback Joe Burrow looked sharp during the Bengals-Browns game Thursday night despite the 35-30 loss.

Burrow finished the game 37-of-61 passing, for 316 yards, and 3 touchdowns. The 37 completions were the most in a game by a rookie in NFL history.

Burrow was also the first rookie "since 1950 with 60+ pass attempts and zero interceptions in a game."

Who the hell was throwing the ball 60+ times in a game prior to 1950?

Same question... I can only assume it was another way of saying NOBODY ever has since the inception of this professional sport.

That offensive line is so bad. Brees wouldn't have put up stats this good under those conditions

Bengals owner Mike Brown is historically both a cheap arse and an idiot. Remember when Carson Palmer preferred to retire then stay on that team another minute? Burrow will hopefully be able to leave there before they have a chance to tear his knees off.

Hey don’t give up 200+ yards rushing, and you’ll win games?

Were the 17 hits a record?

I think David Carr averaged 20 hits a game his rookie season with the Texans

Not any Joe Moore award winners on that offensive line. Burrow is going to get rich if he he stays healthy when his contract comes up and either Cincy franchises him or he goes free agent. I hope he gets the line he needs. Somewhere.

Ummm....he’s already rich.

Comparing the 2 rosters, the Bengals should have been blown out. Burrow willed that game into being competitive. If he and Baker swapped sides it would have been Browns by 50.

I bet he breaks that record too...

Guys, look at him with an offensive line that may be the worst in the NFL. Now, imagine him with a quality line, not a great one, just a quality, middle of the offensive line. Pffff, GEAUXT. I hope the arse clowns that run the bengals take all the have and invest in those big boys.

When Troy Aikman was a rookie they were horrible. Hoping Joe finishes the season with his health, Bengals line is bad, not as bad as their defense though.

The first of many more records to come! Joey B is an elite talent and young man!

Joe looked great but he's going to take a beating this year. They have to get him an offensive line that can protect him.

And another WR wouldn't hurt. If they can protect him and give him some weapons he's going to be incredible. I mean look what he did without it.

Joe is elite but the ownership and management of the Bengals is trash. They will never build a team around him. Just like Carson Palmer, they will waste a player. I hope that if they do not have a team that is obviously being built by the end of his rookie contract, he will sign somewhere else when his first contract expires. Once again, people in Cincinnati will be left with what if.

Be sure to credit big Jim Haslam's Browns with zero interceptions with 60+ opportunities to intercept.
