It was announced Wednesday that former LSU head coach Nick Saban will be inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame this year.

Former LSU offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth will also be inducted.

The event will be held on June 28 in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Per LASportsHall:
quote:

Saban was elected to the LSHOF’s Class of 2020, but the global pandemic that spring postponed that year’s ceremonies. It also altered the NCAA football recruiting calendar and that shift prevented Saban, then coach at Alabama, from being inducted until now at the Hall’s annual June ceremonies, set this year for June 26-28 in Natchitoches.

The announcement was made by Ronnie Rantz, CEO/President of the LSHOF Foundation which hosts the annual induction activities, and LSHOF chairman Doug Ireland. The other members of the class were announced last fall.

Saban has close connections with four other 2025 inductees – Andrew Whitworth, Herb Vincent, Glenn Guilbeau and the late Ed Daniels, all who were involved with Saban during his time at LSU.

Whitworth was a star on the Tigers’ national championship team. Vincent oversaw communications for the athletics department while Saban was at LSU. Guilbeau and Daniels covered that team and other Saban-led squads at LSU and Alabama.

Whitworth, a champion at West Monroe High School, LSU and in the NFL during a 16-year pro career, is joined by pro basketball All-Stars Danny Granger and Vickie Johnson, the state’s winningest all-time college baseball coach Joe Scheuermann and Danny Broussard, one of the nation’s most successful high school basketball coaches, in this year’s induction class.

Greatest college football coach in the history of the sport. Really put LSU back on the map as a national contender. Deserves every accolade and award given. Hated to lose him to the pros. He has openly admitted his biggest mistake was leaving LSU. Those calling him a traitor would’ve taken him back in a second and are just butt hurt.

He won a national title for LSU. He should be in the Hall of Fame. Furthermore, his name should adorn the stadium facade. So, too, should Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels and Dalton Hilliard and Ed Orgeron and Bert Jones and Paul Dietzal and Jamar Chase and Jordan Jefferson and...The LSU brass are slow to recognize LSU footballs greats, and SNOTTY in their refusal to move on this quicker.

How many times did he lose in TS while he was at bama ? 2010 and 2022?

Yes. Overall, he lost 5 to LSU, 3 in the first 5 years (including the 2010 matchup as you indicated). However, after the "Game of the Century" loss to LSU in Tuscaloosa, he would lead the Tide to 8 straight wins over LSU, finally losing only to the greatest college football team of all time in 2019, again in Tuscaloosa. He would only drop 1 more game in the series, his final trip to Baton Rouge in 2022. He would finish 5-13 against LSU, including 3 shutouts (1 of which came in the big game), but also included 2 OT wins. In the 5 losses, the total margin of victory for LSU was only 19 points.
