Squier has come a long way. I've done some double takes on guitars hanging in the shop to see they are budget brands. They're solid.

My personal favorites are the unsolicited calls from local area agents telling me they can get top of market, and then trying to ask me questions about my house they would know if they did the slightest bit of research.
Also - those texts are the people trying to buy your house for cash for 40-50% below market so they can flip it.

Sounds like we need midnight basketball.
Part of the problem is that culture and standards have changed. Before the onus is just put on kids not performing, adults allowed it to happen - case in point - GLP-1. Ronnie Coleman said it best. "Everybody wants to be a body builder, but nobody wants to lift heavy arse weight."
We also need to accept that fact that some folks are just not meant for post-secondary education right out of high school for one reason or another and public schools should pivot to preparing people for life without training wheels. The world needs welders and plumbers as much as it needs engineers and doctors. Not everybody gets to be an astronaut and as a society, we should not lie to each other about it.
I've been walking around on this planet for a fist full of decades now, and the people that really want to learn will figure out how to get it done.
